Seeing black dots in vision? Belle De Jour Due October 8 (boy); 2 kids; Kentucky 19169 posts

Why does this happen? I'm 27 weeks and have been seeing them on and off for the last few weeks. Like on the 4th I kept trying to wave all the bugs away from me and my Mom asked me what I was doing and I told her about the little gnats that were flying around.... there were no bugs... -_-
I saw them yesterday too, and have a few other times.
Is that normal, or at least ok?

You might want to tell your doc. Sometimes that can be a sign of high blood pressure.

My BP has been really good every time I go in for my apts.

Mine was good until near the end. Things like that can change suddenly. Better safe than sorry, in my opinion. It may be nothing, but if it is something, the sooner you catch it, the better.

Yes, definitely blood pressure problems.  I just started having blood pressure problems in my third trimester and occasionally on and off I'll see spots and bright stars, ssometimes I'll get a headache or two but usually I see thise bright stars. You should call your doctor and let them know asap and should go in to get checked out. That is not good.

High glucose levels can change vision too.

Mention it to the dr. I had pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy that went undetected till it became an emergency situation. My blood pressure was always normal as well till the end and I had those little spots in my vision since the first trimester. In my personal experience, it is not normal and not good. I never had it with my other three pregnancies. But I can tell you I suffered and almost died even after I had the baby bc mine went undetected and I spent a lot of time in the hospital.

Then I would definitely urge you to talk to the dr because a lot of times, it comes back in other pregnancies.

Is it common for it to come so early? I'm only 27 weeks, baby has to cook  bit longer :(

It usually occurs in the second trimester, sometimes it hits in the third trimester. There are things they can do I think to help it not to progress so much that it becomes necessary to induce.

My doc told me it usually starts in the third trimester.

My dr always told me it usually starts in the second trimester and progresses in the third trimester so IDK.
