What were you able to do with your Wedding Budget?? ¡VinHaute! Memphis, Tennessee 45405 posts

So DH basically proposed last night that we have a Vow Renewal Ceremony fall of next year (it'll be our 13th wedding anniversary). Never thought he'd want something like that and I've never pushed it but I'm actually pretty excited about it. I've got a good long time to plan it and gather things for it and I want to do as much as I can by myself.

He gave me a 15k budget for a ceremony/reception/honeymoon and I think that's reasonable, definitely not looking to spend more than that. It'll be smallish, only about 50 people.

Did anyone else out there have a budget like that (around 10k or so for the actual reception - I plan on having the ceremony at the same venue)? Did you feel it was enough? Were you able to score some deals? What kind of resources did you use?

I do know I want a rustic/southern inspired vibe. I want a barn wedding with a bonfire (sometime in October, weather here should be great). Reception dinner buffet style (i'll be planning the menu and doing my own banquet consulting). I want a free bar too, just wondering what would be realistic in terms of stocking for that - I'm hoping no more than $1000 for booze.

Your booze budget was about the budget for our reception, lol. We were married in my church though so we didn't have to pay for the venue but still, I wouldn't be of much help. Tongue

Just wanted to say that I think the fall barn wedding is a super cute idea!

Oh man, well I can't deny it - imma boozehound alright 38 I want to do a moonshine bar and then just serve up some wine/locally brewed beer.

So did you end up making a lot of the decor yourself? How'd you stick to your budget? I'm really trying to come in as under as I can and I'm pretty sure I will. The barn I'm looking at is going to take up almost half of my budget to rent out but they do all the setup and breakdown and I'm pretty sure they do the floral too. But I'm not going fancy with that, just sunflowers and babysbreath.

We did do a lot of DIY projects. We made the bird seed bags and decorated a basket for them. I did a lot of family picture projects. Oil in mason jars with pictures and made picture holder blocks with a D for out last name and the date. Added wine bottles on the table because, who doesn't love wine? haha
We did a bbq dinner. We had a friend who does competieon bbq to smoke and shred 8 pork butts for us. We made tons of potato salad, baked beans, rolls and snack trays too. We used the white table cloths the church already had and added a black runner to them. I also did a 10 minute slideshow of family pictures with love songs, that we used the projector for. That was my favorite part!

Here are some pictures. It isn't the caliber of decor that you can have with a 15k budget but I did love out wedding!

We didn't decorate the church because it is beautiful as is.

My mom and I made the bouquets. Fake flowers but we made them all for less than one would cost from the florist. lol

I have no help or advice.   Just a question, am I one of those 50? 38 I know your vow renewal is going to be gorgeous.
