I just found out that my obgyn is under investigation for "gross negligence to his pregnant patients" and his license is moving to be suspended or revoked.
According to the state, he repeatedly failed to perform ultrasounds, performed the wrong kind of ultrasound or kept insufficient medical documentation of exams. And in one case, he failed to diagnose a 25-year-old woman's placenta previa. Another patient with a history of lost pregnancies gave birth to a stillborn while under Sharma's care, according to the complaint, which said he had failed to make any notation of measuring amniotic fluid or prolonged fetal monitoring after the patient complained she couldn't feel her fetus moving. And when I looked up the story online(it was on the news) 7 woman had stillbirth's while under his care in 2012!SurprisedUnknown
I did not like this ob from the start because he hasn't done many things that I had done during my daughter's pregnancy, he hasn't done a pelvic exam, he hasn't taken blood since my first appt(even though I brought up the fact that I think I have a blood sugar problem), I haven't done the glucose test yet, anytime he does my ultrasounds he never tells me what he's doing or measuring and does them so fast if I look away for even a second he is already done. He doesn't ask me if I have questions or anything.
I am so dumbfounded and pretty upset about this situation as I am 20w now and worried that another ob won't take me under their care. Ugh.

Oh wow. Surprised Well at least you are finding out now. I'm sure you'll not have any trouble finding another doctor, especially if you explain your situation with this doctor.

oh my god that is so scary! I'm so sorry that you're going through that. I'm sure another OB will have no problem taking you.

It's a good thing you know now. But doesn't seem like he's missed anything for you yet, glucose test is done around 28 weeks. I only had blood drawn at my first appointment and at 28 weeks, and I didn't have a pelvic exam either because I had one months before becoming pregnant.

That's some crazy shit but you never know until it happens this often... I didn't think doctors were allowed to refuse you care??? I guess that's just me that thought that???

Idk, I thought they were suppose to do a pelvic exam at your first appt? I haven't had one in 2 yrs. They did my glucose test at 23 weeks with my daughter so maybe its different now. And I thought for sure that he would take blood to at least let me know if I have the blood sugar problem, I just feel like he isn't doing things according to protocol and it makes me nervous. You would think that since I have an u/s at every visit with him that it would make me feel secure in knowing everything is okay but I dont feel that way because he doesn't even tell me what he's doing, its just weird to meUnknown
And yes I am calling around tomorrow to see if someone else will take me. My mil suggested her ob so hopefully it will work out.

Most doctors don't really tell you what they are doing during an ultrasound either. You are pretty much the elephant in the room while he is doing his job. They give you results later, not at the time of the screening.

Well he doesn't even talk to me so how am I suppose to feel comfortable with that? He has never told me any results from my u/s and hes always in a hurry like I said in my op. It sucks, I wish I would of seen all that stuff before I chose to go to him. Reading about all that shit just makes me sick to my stomach, since I was trusting him with my unborn daughter's health and safety.

You just said you're 20 weeks so you still haven't missed the time to do glucose which is blood sugar levels. I don't know what other test you would like.

Yes it's weird that you didn't get a pelvic exam. Yes it sucks he rushes you but you're the only advocate to your care so you could speak up and refuse to leave. He doesn't have to say " do you have an questions" for you to ask them or voice concerns.

As for getting rushed through ultrasounds and not knowing what he's looking at did you ask?

It it sucks your doctor seems to be a shitty one but you have to speak up too. It's not all on him in having crappy care if you aren't advocating for yourself. Find a new doctor. Make sure you ask a million questions if you have them. You're glucose test is still coming and you can rest assured that you'll get proper care if you pipe up

Yes true, but since I have concerns about my blood sugar shouldn't he of done something about at least that? you can get blood sugar results by getting blood drawn and he hasn't even done that.
Yes I have asked him but he pretty much ignores me or talks so low and mumbles that I don't understand him. And he should be asking me if I have any questions, otherwise I feel like he's too busy to answer them because thats the attitude he portrays.
I can't wait to see a new ob, hopefully they wont be as bad as he was.
