I'm 37 weeks and 2cm dialated and 50% effaced... Does this mean labor is coming soon? Dr appts are weekly now.. He said the baby technically can come anytime now, so I was just wondering if that really means anything for how far I am.

Not necessarily, no. You could go tomorrow or 4 weeks from now. Dilation doesn't always indicate labor.

I've declined cervical exams as well until I'm in labor and it's necessary. I typically don't dilate past 1 cm until I'm in active labor anyway, but I just feel it's no indication of labor so no point in going through the pain of the exam.

The only reason they told me is because they were checking my baby's position, which is head down. And then said I was at a 2.
