Gestational Diabetes AGAIN? Aggie♥Mom 2 kids; Texas 28393 posts

I'm just wondering if there is anyone who has GD for the second (or more) time. When did you get diagnosed the second time? Did you have any symptoms?

I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I have a bad feeling I am going to fail the glucose test my doctor is making me take at 11 weeks.

I'm going to take my blood sugar starting today just to see where I stand.

my mom had it all 3 times. and my OB said that the reason why they test everyone is because there aren't really any signs of having it like there is with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

I went through 3 pregnancies and didn't have it but with my last I had it and it didn't go away. I guess I'm just predisposed to it because of genetics.

I had it with my first I am not pregnant again but I am really praying I wont get it again. My dr told me to loose a bunch of weight before i try to get pregnant again so I lower my chances. But good luck let us know how it goes when you test it today!

Sorry to hear you may have to go through that again. I went through it the first time around too, but was able to easily maintain my levels (usually stayed below 100 or 110 after eating) with just a diet. I'm nervous I will have it in future pregnancies as well...and to have to test earlier, ewww!!! Dealing with it for 10 weeks was hard enough, I couldn't imagine going through 20 or 30 weeks.

Good luck, let us know how you make out!
