So my baby is 10 weeks old and still has blue eyes. I thought for sure he would have brown since his dad has some asian in him but as of yet they are BRIGHT blue. But before I have too much hope that he will get my eye color- when did your babies eyes change color?

My sons eyes went from slate grey to bright blue at 4 weeks. The day it happened I knew he could see more - he was just looking everywhere - and then he looked at me and gave me a huge smile! He still has bright blue eyes.

I've read that by 6 months its usually apparent. I thought for sure my son would have brown eyes because both his dad and I are brown eyed but he was born with blue. He's almost a month old now and they are still bright blue. I guess he got a recessive gene! My pediatrician told me that most of the time babies eyes don't turn from blue to brown, they will usually turn hazel or a blueish green if they are going to change at all. So you have a good chance of keeping your little blue eyed man!

My son was born with really dark blue eyes, but my husband has brown eyes and I have Hazel.... At nearly 4 months old he still has bright blue eyes, go figure?!? LOL! The only thing we can figure is that both of our fathers have blue eyes so he must have gotten the blue eye gene from both of us.....

We knew our son's eyes were going to stay brown by the time he was 6 weeks.

My Ped told me that a baby's eyecolor can change up until they are 18 months, however you can rest asured that your little one isn't going to have brown eyes. Brown is the dominant gene, so if his father had passed him the brown gene he would have been born with brown eyes.

My oldest took about a year to change and my youngest is 8 months and her eyes are still changing. I mean, they aren't still blue more of a hazel but they will be brown.
