I am 38 weeks now and have been experiencing menstrual-like cramping in my back and in my abdomen for the last couple days. Is this cramping just Braxton Hicks??? It's starting to worry me a little bit b/c I swear it feels like I am about to get my period every now and then. Has anyone else experienced this????

If they are painfull they are contractions. Sounds liek your body is getting ready to have that baby!

with BH your tummy tightens up and it hurts real bad (at least thats what ive heard..never really experienced them) but with real contractions mine just felt like cramps...when my water broke they got real painful...but until then it was straight up menstral cramps!!

looks like your geting close...try seeing how close they are....

I would give your dr a call, sounds like contractions :) Mine started out feeling like i was going to get my periods and with my last bub my pains where really bad in my back because of how the baby was laying. Good luck!

I've never had cramps, but a lot of people describe labor to feel like intense menstral cramps. Have you tried timing them?

Time them...if they are in a pattern of 6-8 minutes apart call labor and delivery and go up and be seen. If you try getting up and walking and notice that the contractions disappear then they are just BH...is walking causes stronger contractions then they are real ones....they just need to be dialating your cervix. Good luck!

Typically your doctor/hospital wants you to follow the 5-1-1 rule
contractions 5 minutes apart
lasting 1 minute
for at least 1 hour.

Just curious, did you go into labor shortly after?
