So, I read on the internet that a full moon tends to trigger labor for many women who are close to their due date. Here is the article I read:
http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Moons-Effect-on-Natural-Childbirth&id=70253

I spoke to a friend of mine who is a nurse in L&D and she said that they always over staff on those nights because it is inevitable that more women will come into the ER.

Since technically I was due today (14th), but my c-section is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18th...don't you think it would be AWESOME if I go into labor this weekend? I do...I'm SO OVER being pregnant and want this child OUT!

Let me know your thoughts on this theory and if it's happened to any of you. Happy labor dust to all of us August mommies!!!

I was actually doing research on this very subject earlier this week and made a postand came across this same website. I'm due in Oct but there is supposed to be a full moon 3 days before my due date.. I am hoping it's true!

Yea, my mom is a post partum RN and she always hates going into work on a full moon... She says its their busiest time.

I've actually done research on this topic when I was at the end of my pregnancy. I was due on April 25th and there was a full moon on the 20th. It did NOT happen for me (although I was hoping and praying!) I ended up giving birth on April 26th, just one day late. I think that some people are more susceptible to the moon's effects. I think the full moon works especially for people with lots of amniotic fluid and thinner amniotic sacs. When I went into the hospital they had to break my bag with the hook even though the nurse tried to break it with her fingertips because my bag was "thicker." It's just my theory, but I think it makes sense somewhat.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd I went 4 days overdue. The night of May 11th was a full moon and I woke up to my waters broken at 4:30am on the 12th.
I'm now due on Monday (August 18th) and I'm hoping this full moon tonight will do some magic on me again.. lol.. I would HATE to go over again!!

I so wish it had for me almost a year ago, maybe then I would have been early 5 days instead of late 5 days.

I had my Daughter on a full moon.(@38 weeks)And the nurses pointed out a few times that they were so busy because of the moon. I had to wait until 3am just to get squeezed into my post-partem recovery room. The entire floor was packed.
my daughter is named after the moon.Good luck
