Warm bath while pregnant?! {She Calls me MaMa} 17 kids; Alabama 467 posts

I was just wondering if taking a warm bath while you are pregnant is going to harm the child in any way. I have been told by a couple people to not do it because it can cause you to bleed? And then again, I have seen people on here talk about how stressed they are and that they are going to go take a bath.... Anyone know the truth about it?

The no-bath rule is outdated. It's perfectly fine.

I read that really warm water could cause some birth defects? But I would think that the water would have to be prettywarm for that. I don't know though. I've been wanting to take just a luke warm bath but I've been scared too.

It's ok as long as they aren't really hot and you don't stay in them too long. The only real danger is causing your body temp to rise to much bc then it poses the same risk as a fever.

You can take warm baths. You just don't want them to be hot probably like the way you used to take them prepregnancy. I take warm baths quite a bit but keep the water around my body temp. Just don't get in hot tubs oranything above 105 degrees.

Warm baths will not make you bleed. Whoever told you that is off their rocker. They say not to take extremely hot baths because of your body temp getting high and that isnt good for the baby. A warm bath is fine.
