I am wondering the same thing. I am still nursing my 15 month old on demand and am wanting to TTC, but have not had AF since I got pregnant.

You can take B6 for regulating your cycle while nursing, the downside can be that if you take too much it can lower milk supply. I have heard/read great things about the supplement Vitex, also known as chasteberry. The good thing on Vitex is that it also known to improve milk production, so it's safe for nursing. It actually is meant to support good endocrine function, which in turn regulates hormones, so for me, I'd personally start with that & add B6 if I didn't see an improvement after a couple of cycles. I just waited to TTC until my child was 2 though & by then everything was back on track. I had a minimum goal of 2 yrs & you can start to loose supply fairly quickly if you get pregnant. You may never loose it at all, or may loose it later. it is not possible to know, until it happens. So I just waited to TTC until I met the nursing goal for the older one & by then all my research wasn't needed, as my cycles were right on & TTC was no problem. Good luck!

I do not have the time or energy to educate people. Also I feel like she has hit the point where I can't educate people into thinking it is ok. People get super judgmental and I feel like it affects what people thing of me when they meet me. It is different with people I know, or crunchy moms. But anyone else I dont tell the truth.

DS is only 17m/o now and I know a lot of my "friends" wouldn't approve already so while I share breastfeeding stuff on FB, I don't say anything about it in person. If DS wants "b**b-oo", I whip out the b**b and stick him on without a word to anyone. But no one's been surprised b/c my b**bs are still huge and they used to be little B's. lol I've gotten some questions about when I'll wean and "What if he doesn't wean himself, though," and I'm like "Well, I doubt he'll be coming home during lunch to nurse when he's in HS, so..."

oh ok. totally get that. I think that the majority of people just don't get it unless they've been there or have like hippy parents or something. lol I used to be one of those people that didn't think kids should nurse past age 2 either, until I had my own and made up my own mind.

I'm still nursing my 3yr 3m old (and 13m old), although I have to keep it a secret now because DH insisted I wean him on his 3rd birthday (long story). First I didn't, then I did. lasted for a good 3 weeks, but lately I've started letting him nurse again. I do casually mention it with the few people where the subject comes up, but so far haven't had any negative reactions. I think Europe is generally more accepting, although sadly most women still wean at 12m old earlier here.
