Yeah but people with the holy spirit in their heart need to be an example of faith and love not judgement and hatred.

I don't care of the GOD approves or not. I think it should be legalized!!I personally do not smoke weed...have I tried it..yes...wasn't for me but I have no problem w/people smoking it. I think cigarettes are disgusting and should be outlawed...they do a hell of a lot more damage than marijuana!!!

I see the valid points but what about (forgive me I am no way as knowledgeable in scriptures as some of you obviously are) where it says in the Bible about obeying the laws of the land, so even if they did eat marijuana in the bible and God does "condone" its use, what about the fact that it is illegal and we are to obey the laws of the land.

According to those passages it would not be sinful to put it in food.

However, the Bible also tells us that we are to obey and respect those appointed over us, and since it's illegal to use, it would still be indirectly against God's word.

On a religious level, even if it were made legal, I'd have to weigh whether or not I thought it was appropriate to use. Because, as Mellie said, I think it could easily fall under the category of "drunkenness" because you are not of sober mind and body under it's influence. I don't disagree with drinking in moderation, but I don't know the effects of pot in moderation, so I can't really give an opinion there.

Im going to give this a good shot.
Marijuana is a seed bearing plant and thus is probably ok in God's eyes to eat.
However possession of such is illegal and we are called to listen to our authorities because no authority reigns without God's say so.
BUT everything God makes is good and the question is then is it withins man's ability to make something good illegal?

Should marijuana become legal the questions about using for Christians would be.

is your desire to use coming from a good or bad place in the your heart?
Will using it lessen your standing with others and thus threaten your ability to minister the gospel?
Are you PERSONALLY able to still resist sin and temptations while high?

One thing I would like to point out is for people to STOP exctracting the sober minded part of the bible, look at the whole passage and I think you'll find a different meaning to it entirely.

And yes the bible is EXACTLY how God intended it, to think that he would allow ANY man to distort his holy text which is really OUR manual for living by his law is probably some form of blaspheming and whomever thinks so should probably medidate, pray, and possibly fast over it.

But I am no better than any of you and need to remain humble so I cannot pass judgement for I am not God, only a sinful creature fighting everyday to walk in the light.

Hahahaha.... You know, awhile back my SIL's boyfriend told me that there is more evidence in the Bible to support pot use than there was against it. I, being the peace loving individual that I am (and just not wanting to interrupt his little rant lol), just smiled and nodded. I had no idea what he was talking about.
Thanks for cluing me in!

I think pot should be legal. I think it is way safer than alcohol.
