hey guys

is it possible to confuse contractions for rapid baby movements. my baby moves alott, very very active and im 40 + 3 weeks. i feel tightness and pressure in my stomach that takes my breath away and at the same time lots of kicks. i dnt know if i should time or not coz i dnt know if the tightn ess is from baby or the pressure im feeling in my uterus is baby movements. is it normal to confuse movements with contractions or are they two different things altogether.

thanks

Your baby will move while you are contracting tightness it really sounds liek tehy are contractions. and baby is just moving right along with them!

They are two totally different things from my experience, but it is also possible to feelbaby move while your having a contraction. But just not every single time you have a contraction your gonna feel babymove, you will know the difference if its labor. If your concerned time them, if they are 5-7 minutes apart for more than a hr your beginning the process of labor and should head to hospital/birthing center/call ur doc/etc...

yeah i meant 40 weeks and 3 days.

so what should con tractions feel like? is it abdominal pain? pressure? tightness? does ur stomach move when u watch it during a contraction like when ur baby moves and u see ur stomach jump?

coz im first time mum im not sure if im contracting oor not, but this feeling is veryy uncomfortable, i feel very tight, pressure and breathless when it happens, and i feel like i cnt move, i havnt timed but its been going on for about 2 hours now.

Sounds to me like you've started labor, if you are to go into hospital now and tell them this they will check you in b/c your already overdue. Your uterus gets tight and then loose then tight then loose. Slightly some pressure in the beginning. It may or may not be painful.I think you should defiantely go into L&D congrads I think your going to be meeting your little one real soon!!!

u think i should check in now? some people said to stay home for majority of the labor and go in when i cnt tolerate it anymore? should i do that as in stay home till i cnt handle it anymore then go in or should i go in now?

aww i hope im starting labor, i cnt wait to see bub... wish me well
