Contractions at 21 weeks?? Jen & her boys! 2 kids; Tulsa, Oklahoma 869 posts

I'm 21 weeks along (about), and noticing somewhat painful contractions at times, not with any regularity. Like right now, I had a contraction several minutes ago, and it now feels generally tight and painful. Is this weird, normal or what???

I've been pregnant before, but I don't recall having contractions, Braxton-Hicks or otherwise, this early in the game! I'm probably worrying too much, and ever since the contractions started, I've been having nightmares that I will deliver this baby too early and it will die. :( Help!

You might be having BH contractions but if you're really worried, I'd call your doctor or go get checked out in L&D just to ease your nerves. Better safe than sorry honey.

I started getting alot of BH around 25 weeks. When I called L&D they told me to drink a TON of water & lay on my left side for an hour. And if that didn't work to go in.

I'm 23 weeks almost 24 and I had what I think was BH contractions 2 days ago. My stomach just got really tight and hard. I called my good friend who just delivered recently and she said that it was either a muscle spasm or BH. You can have them this early typically if you're stressed out or overdoing it. I called my doc. right away too and she told me to make an appt. to come in and get checked out to make sure everything looks ok. I would suggest you do the same thing. I didn't have any pain with it, but just to be on the safe side I would call your doc. You should be just fine. I totally thought the worst right away too, but it's just us caring for our baby. :)

I know, I'm always thinking the worst but hoping for the best. I have been really busy at work today, stressing out, etc. And not drinking enough water. I'll have to really up my water intake!

Oh good. I decided not to call the doc's office today because when I finally got a few free moments to get away from my desk to call it was 5:30 - and they were gone! Oh well. If it gets worse, I guess I'll call. But right now I'm downing a ton of ice water ... hope this helps. !!!
