Burning Sensation under right breast and rib cage :( yadi♥gael 1 child; Gardner, Kansas 258 posts

I'm in my 34th week and I've been having some discomfort under my right boobie and rib cage for almost a month.:(
It is really hard to explain but it is a sharp stinging, almost burning pain centered right under my breasts at where I think the very top of my uterus is. It really hasn't gone away at all and keeps waking me up at night. It actually gets worse if I push or rub on it. Has this happened to anyone else? I need some advice on how to deal with it and figure out what's causing this.

Yeah, That's Heartburn for ya... It hurts... Acidic foods, spicy foods and some carbonation can do it! at least for me

The sme thing has been happening to me for the last month of so also. I am 34 weeks. Its RIGHT underneath my right breast and on top of my rib cage it seems.I had no idea what is was so I was blaming it on my bra.. but I figured out that could not be it either because even when I go without one the pain still comes and gos.

I have been having that same pain. WHen I asked the nurse she said it was most likely upper gastointestional ie heartburn, or that it could be a stomach ulser? But mine usually goes away. She said if it continued to call the doctor

I concur with Mamaoflove...
I spent almost 6 months with constant heartburn with my last pregnancy...
I wouldn't worry that it's anything else. If you're really worried, speak to your Dr. But chances are, it's just benign normal (albeit more severe) heartburn, and it'll go away once your little one is here.

hey! Ive been experiencing the same thing, like a burning sometimes pricky sensation on the right side under my right breast/ribcage and sometimes it actually twitches. my doc said its probably nerves that are being intefered with becaus eof the growing baby. i also struggle at times to sleep on my right side. it tends to be more troublesome during the night time.

I am having that SAME thing. Burning/tingly/ numbness right under my breast on the right side. I've ruled out my bra, and heartburn. Trust me, I'm POSITIVE it's not heartburn because I happened to have some heartburn at the same time this was acting up last night. I took some tums and my heartburn went away but that odd pain was still there. I've been looking up anything and everything I can on this topic but I still have no answers. I've heard it could be my gallbladder or inflamed ribs. I've only got about 9 weeks left but this is excruciating at times. Does anyone know for sure what this is!!??

UPDATE LADIES!!

I went to the doc and he said that this is a super common occurrence later in pregnancy when room is starting to get scarce. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called but basically, it's an inflamed nerve. Baby is just squishing your insides and it will go after delivery. (If I had a quarter for every time I heard THAT one!) Lol.
