Eye Gunk In my 3 month old. Goodbye Horses. 1 child; Liberty, Missouri 6544 posts

I awoke this morning to find my 3 month old Addison to have a eye full of gooey gunk holding her eye shut.
I have no idea why this could of happened and this seemed to as happened over night....
I wiped it away with a warm wash cloth as best as I could but it still seems all watery, seems the "gunk" is still stuck in her eyelashes too.
Could she have allergies ( we have a cat)
or could she possible be getting pink eye?

Advice please.

It could be pink eye - it also could be a sign of an ear infection. That is always the first and earliest sign that Kailyn is getting an ear infection. Although she didnt get her first one till after 6 months.

Is the eye itself irritated at all? Has she had a runny nose at all in the last couple of days? She could simply have a clogged tear duct which caused the eye to crust. If it's pink eye, the crustiness would continue to happen even when she's awake (it would seep) and it would bother her because it would be extremely itchy. Take the warm cloth and wipe the eye toward her nose, then again away from it a few times. If within an hour or two it starts to look crusty again, take her in.

Definitly pink eye,. Get her an appointment to see the doctor so she can get eye drops.

or if you're breastfeeding, breast milk is the best way to get rid of the gunk and/or infection.

Sounds like pink eye. I'd call before going in

Chloe has the same thing its just not pink, her doctor said it was a clogged tear duct and told us to do warm compresses on her eye
