So, the whole Salma Hayek thing going on about her admitting to being "addicted to breastfeeding." Herdaughter is well over a year old and she said she cannot stop for the life of her and that she will continue to do for a while. Does anyone believe this? Does anybody disagree? Are any of you addicted to breastfeeeding like she is?

I don't breastfeed, I just heard it on the radio yesterday while I was driving to the store and it sparked my curiousity to ask about it.

My sister's daughter turned 2 in October and she still nurses.... I dunno that she's addicted to it though...

I only breastfed my kids until they were about 3 months old. I would have done it longer but I wasn't producing enough milk :(

i don't beleive in breast feeding them that old. its not needed... theres nourishing your infant then just continuing for your personal gain as they become toddlers...

I think you can be very attached to the closeness and bonding.

My daughter is 7 months old and I do enjoy breastfeeding her for the closeness :).

I BF my 2nd until he was 27 months & the only reason he weaned was because I am pregnant & my milk dried up. I wouldn't say I was addicted per sey, but it becomes a huge part of everyday life & is more of a routine than anything. I must admit that I do miss it & actually am looking forward to BF my next baby. I can understand her saying she is addicted. I'm sure some people might take it the wrong way to hear a woman say she is addicted to BF but some people don't understand it or think of it as being sexual.

My daughter is 2 weeks old and just latched on GREAT for the first time today. So today was really the fist time she was breastfed, and I was so happy. But...I deffinatley don't like it in particular. To me....b**bs are toys...not food. But I'm only breastfeeding because I want her to have a good immune system. Given, she also takes formula. But I know breastmilk is good for them, and I will breastfeed. But deffiantely not for a year. My daughter will be lucky if I do it til she's 3 months.
