Lily will be 3 months old on December 9th can I paint her toenails? I was wanting to but only if its safe...thanks for your help in advance...
I know a lot of women that have painted their babys toe nails. I don't know if it's safe or not though.
my mom always told me i cant paint my little sisters nail cause she puts her hands in her mouth all the time and it can flake off but since its her toe nails i cant see why
i'm an esthetician... and yes its safe to paint them... as long as she doesnt put her feet in her mouth (which i'm sure she's not)
go right ahead....
I wouldn't do it. My daughter puts her feet in her mouth constantly. I know they make nail polish for babies, but still - I dont think it's meant to be eaten. LOL!
Wait until summer time. It's not like she will be wearing sandals now!
Omg you totally put an idea in my head. I'm gonna paint my 3 1/2 month old's nails. Sooo cute.
LMAO I am painting my girls nails right now, I have been doing their toes since around 2mths, just put socks on her if she starts putting them in her mouth.
I would say.....no. Just because babies put their hands and feet in their mouths. And nail polish tends to chip off...it's poisonous and should not be ingested. That being said, I know how exciting it can be to paint the nails. I wanted to really, really bad with my daughter too and my doctor said no....for the reason stated above. But now that's she 2 and not chewing on her feet I paint them all the time!! So don't worry....if you can't/don't paint them yet, you'll still have plenty of time to do them :)
i wouldn't...I don't even wear nail polish anymore after I found out about all the poisons in them:? Maybe every once in a while, when she's older, but I wouldn't want to expose my baby to all those harsh chemicals at such a young age, esp. if her toes may end up in her mouth.
eta: you should be able to find nail polish at your local health food store that doesn't have nearly as many poisons. It'll be more expensive, but at least it'll be safer:D
Thanks for all the answers but now I dont know if I will or not.......but she doesnt chew on her toes yet and I dont plan on painting her finger nails (since she does occasionally chew on them but thanks for the advice ladies...
