My doctor told me after hearing the heartbeat it drops significantly. I'm not sure at how many weeks it drops, though.

I thought it was that once you hear your baby's heartbeat, it decreases your chances of a miscarriage by 50%?

when you reach your second trimester it does which is 14 weeks, but if you are to give birth before 27 weeks your baby has a low rate of surviving. Each day minute, hour, after 27 weeks is a greater chance of survival

After the first trimester, and after hearing the heartbeat.

As long as you haven't had a miscarriage before they say that it drops after the first trimester.

actually ive done research and by the time you hear the babies heartbeat the chances of miscarriage drop to about a 5% chance and there's other factors like smoking, and etc.. but also after after a miscarriage before lessens the chance of another one the next time only if it was a normal m/c the first time
