drinking beer actually helps milk production. Some lactation consultants reccomend drinking a beer a night to boost your milk supply.

I drank a 1/2 a month ago and became engorged for the first time since my milk came in

some docs (my childs pediatricians) said that one or two won't hurt and you don't have to pump and dump. Beer actually helps with milk production.

One beer will not be detrimental. You probably don't want to drink it immediately before you feed, but after one or when the baby is asleep is fine.

I think it takes about an hour to metabolize one beer. Something like that if you are worried

I saw a momma out today with her baby daughter (we had really nice weather today for some reason) sitting outside with friends and having a beer; there were several empty bottles at the table too. I sat for quite awhile doing my sudoku and I was talking with friends too. I watched her have 2 more beers, other than the first one. I see nothing at all wrong with b/fing, having a beer or two, and then waiting an hour at least to feed baby again. But then I saw her b/f her daughter right after taking a swig from her bottle, it was at least her third. As she was feeding the kid, she continued to drink. As we were leaving, my husband said (not that loud, but audible to the other table), "I know you're not going to be doing that" and as we were walking away, I said "You know I won't. I don't want some retarded monster baby."

Yes I am just as ascerbic in person, lol. I think she really could have been harming her baby. But then...at least she breastfeeds. That is good.
