I have been reading on differents forums & this one & appalled at what some hospitals dont provide when you give birth.
For me :they provide shampoo, lotion, wipes, toothbrush &paste. Pads & all items necessary for taking care of yourself after birth.
For baby: They give you the 2 recieving blankets in the bassinet, the colored blanket, all the left over bottles (if bottle feeding). The diapers & wipes are pampers & are provided in the hospital + they give you a bunch to go home with. nose sucker, petroleum jelly, pacifier, the onsie baby changed out of to go into the going home outfit. I also get my infant car seat (evenflo brand&base)from the hospital, so I didnt have to buy one. I also got a enfamil diaper dag filled with stuff.
We also get a candelite dinner with 1 month of the baby being born. You get soup, salad, steak or lobster, potato, bread, & dessert. It is served in the atrium, beautiful room.
So what does your hospital provide, or doesnt? I only really need clothes to go home in ifI wanted.
We get pads for the first day and premade bottles of formula (if you are formula feeding)for when you are there ... thats it
Doesnt the Irish health system rock?!
I think mine provided a car seat if you really needed one but I wouldn't trust some random brand to take my baby home in. They provided basically everything you stated if you needed it. I brought my own personal hygiene items and they mainly just gave me stuff for my daughter. She was given a ton of diapers, wipes, and formula bottles when we left.
Mine provides all of the same things minus the car seat. I love my hospital everything is brand new plasma tvs and huge birthing and after care rooms that you get all by yourself and the also give you these ice pads, they are like regular pads for after the baby comes but they are cold to help the pain.
Ours didnt provide a carseat. But, I am glad that I got to pick out the seat I wanted! I wouldnt be thrilled with planning on using whatever the hospital provided.
And while my hospital did provide bottles/pacis I declined. I knew the pacis I wanted to use and brought them. I didnt bottlefeed, so that wasnt a problem. But all the other personal hygeine stuff, diapers, wipes, onesies, blankets, hats, etc.are pretty standard I think - around here at least.
My hospital gave all the essentials for bathing and taking care of the baby while in the hospital. They gave me pads and wash and stuff for myself. They gave us whatever diapers were left and wipes. I didn't bottle feed so I don't know about giving bottles or anything. Before I left they gave a bunch of coupons and free samples and also a similac diaper bag with a sample can of formula, Ice packs, and a little freezer bag to keep breastmilk cold while going out. We weren't allowed to take the blankets though we had to bring our own to take the baby home in.
My hospital provides everything you listed.
I got pads and pads, peri bottle, bath wipes, 2 pink little tubs (dunno why... lol), toothpaste, toothebrush, floss, some things you chew and make your teeth turn pink from plaque, baby shampoo, mesh undies, cool slippers...
He got... bottles of formula... and extra to last us until we could go to wic(it was a weekend), wipes, pampers diapers, vasiline, gauze, alcohol pads, a hat...
They won't give you a car seat and all the blankets said that if they were missing they would hunt us down and probably njp my husband. They didn't even stick him in a onesie. They are lucky I had shit for him to wear... he came 3 weeks early.
the hospital where my daughter was born provided the small containers of shampoo/conditioner (ones like in hotels), pads, mesh underwear (LOVE those), some

My hospital provides tons of things...
For mom they provide all toiletries, robe, a diaper for pp bleeding, an ice pack for pp tenderness, and mesh "sexy" panties to cover up that diaper. Food for me and for daddy right after delivery, and then we will get a Dinner for two Steak supper the night before we go home, Salad, Ribeye steak, baked potato, and green beans. We also get to take home a car seat (envenflo brand) with base, diaper bag and formula to take home. They also provide formula, pacifiers, and receiving blankets, and onsies while in the hospital if you choose to use any of that.
They also offer all kinds of free classes.. including childbirth class, breastfeeding, siblings classes, and swiming in the pool for prenatal excerising.
