Junior after first born. Ashe Aslytherin 18 kids; Clarksville, Tennessee 19201 posts

Traditionally the first born male, the heir, would have been the child to carry on the namesake. Yet I'm seeing mor and more males as juniors even though they have older borthers who didn't get the title.

Is it right to pass on the namesake and the title of JR (or the third, the 4th, etc) to the second or third born son?

I just want to hear people's general opinions on this one.

i don't think it wrong, but it might make the older child wonder why they didn't get it...
idk, but it might cause jealousy.

My SO is one of 4 boys- my SO is the oldest.
My SO is not a junior- but his brother born after him is. i'm not sure why they did it that way and i do kind of think its weird- but oh well. haha

ETA: personally i hate juniors anyway. i would never have a junior.

i wouldnt do it because my SOs name is Shelby so i dont think i could give my son his name since i tease him for having a girl name.

I personally don't like giving the child the faters name.. it kinda erks me..
But i agree that it should be the first born if you're gonna do it..

but if you have more than one child i think it's a little unfair to the next child if they are not named after somone too.. idk.. i just think that each kid should be specail and feel special..

does that even make sense?? hahaa

I am just wondering what makes the first born so "special" that he shoudl be the only one to recieve a Jr. name...

I guess I just don't understand why in the world it woud really matter.
