Which housing do you live on post? We're moving up there soon.

I hope your husband finds some relief with the procedure. That looks so painful. I can't believe no one has been able to figure it out...

My husband takes his physical fitness test next week, and we are hoping to have all the papers the recruiter needs to the recruiter in the next month or so, and then my husband will be signing his contract and will be sworn in. The recruiter said by May he should be off to basic.
He is all kinds of excited. I am too... I should be fresh out of school by then and have a job so that will help raise our income by a good bit so I wont have to worry so much about paying bills while he is gone.

Oh man, you're getting stuck at Stewart!? :( Live in Savannah & make him commute...lol Or split the difference, I think you'd be happy in Richmond Hill.

Awww. Yeah. I can understand that. I would miss not being able to touch my husband's head. I love to randomly rub my husband's hair too when we snuggle.

yeah we thought about doing the commute from Georgetown to here, but in the end we stayed on-post. we were told there was an apartment available for us, but when we got here, it was gone. the only option we had right then was to take the house on-post. after we signed and paid our first month and all, the apartment place called and told me one was available :/ but we can't go for at least a year now. and at that point I don't want to move again. it sucks tho, because with my hubby coming back from overseas, and us living on-post, he took a $700 a check pay cut :(

J+D=4, I am no doctor but this looks like a dermatological issue. I did a quick search for the top rated dermatologists in your area and this man comes in at number one:
http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/289422/Dr-Philip-McNaughton-SAVANNAH-GA.html

Aside from this I would also try and see another kind of specialist. This could be an immune response to all kinds of things from parasites to MRSA. You said you looked up MRSA and it didn't look like the results you found but it actually can look like what is going on with your husband's head. Often times MRSA presents as fluid-filled cysts that come and go. As for parasites it might sound crazy but it's totally possible for a person to pick them up in Afghanistan. There are hundreds of kinds of parasites that cause numerous symptoms and while it's a stretch it's something worth looking into. I would start with the dermatologist since this is obviously a skin-related issue and then work your way out from there.

Lastly, I just checked out a doctor's response to a list of symptoms just like your husband's and this is what she said:

They sound like infected hair follicles or boils. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Apply warm compresses on the bumps and keep the area clean. Drainage of the bump is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription. If there are recurrent boils, then please get your blood sugar levels estimated.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

My husband [finally] told me why he is 90% sure he won't deploy during 2013.

We are moving to Camp Lejeune this weekend and the unit he's joining is deploying some time early in 2013 so we figured he would be going with them. I began preparing myself for it starting last summer and had been living with this overwhelming sense of dread.

Well, about a week ago he tells me he doesn't think he's going to be going anymore and tonight he explained why. Apparently there's another Lieutenant in that unit who is already in Afghanistan and they don't need two PA guys there at the same time and on top of this his Captain in Maryland (where he's at right now and has been since October) already began giving him assignments in NYC starting in May. His first assignment is two weeks long and they're saying he will have more there over the course of this year.

Obviously things can change but the fact that we're winding down in Afghanistan, there's already another Lieutenant there, and he is already signed on to several other engagements all make it highly unlikely he will be going anywhere. This makes me SO happy... I mean I'm trying not to get too excited but it's hard not to. I realize anything can happen and bla bla bla but I'm just thrilled!

thank you. I will look into that doctor. but yes, all of those have already been addressed :( and as far as picking something up when he was deployed, every ARMY doctor he has seen won't even consider it. the civilian doctors he has been too haven't had much experience with anything like this... makes me wanna find a real life Dr. House...

yay! I know you don't want to get your hopes up, but I understand being cautiously optimistic :)
