i am 25 weeks and i am still sleeping in my belly...but then sometimes the baby moves a lot when i do that...am i smashing the baby????? i am trying to sleep less like that but its the most comfortable way for me to fall asleep...
i slept on my tummy till i was 38 wks
I've always been told that it's not good.
But, I've never been told why.
I'm not a belly sleeper though, I sleep on my side. :P
I read about this on discovery health. If you are causing any discomfort to your baby your body will let you know and it will be harder for you to breath. I dont remember why though so you may wanna look it up yourself
It doesn't smash the baby... Well it might a little.. LOL, you're probably making the baby uncomfortable. You won't hurt the baby though. I asked my Dr, and he told me that by the time it would hurt the baby, I wouldn't be able to sleep like that anymore. I wouldn't really worry...
My baby definitely gets uncomfortable when I lay on my stomach, she kicks at the mattress to try to move it or something, it's cute, but sad, so I don't do it.
just prop up some pillows around your belly to sleep on your belly, but not really lay on your belly. You would feel pain yourself before you hurt the baby.
doctors told me that if its not hurting me, then its not hurting the baby.
i have to sleep on my stomach or i won't sleep, but i don't stay that way. and when i'm on my stomach i'm putting my weight on one of my sides. if it gets uncomfortable then i move. my mom slept on her stomach her entire pregnency with me and i was fine.
