I've gone through the posts and have seen nothing like this...
Ok, so I am a week overdue and the past three days, every couple of hours or so I have this searing/stabbing pain in my lower back, lower belly, tailbone and rectum. It hurts so bad it sends AWEFUL pain down my siadic nerve into my left calf, and I feel like i have to poop so bad, but don't. My whole belly gets hard when this happens, but it only hurts where I mentioned.
could this be back labor? has this happened to anyone? should i wait to call the hospital till they are more regluar?

I cant believe you didnt find anything. It is back labor. I had it. I suggest you start practicing your breathing because my epidural did NOT get rid of the tailbone pain and I was in labor for 30 hours.. not fun. It has been 3 weeks and it still hurts.

It is because of the babys position. Face up with his/her spine up against yours.

Well they wont do anything till contractions are 5 min apart. and yes that is what it is. Just make sure your timing them!

The overwhelming pooping feeling is pressure. You should go get checked. You could be farther along than you think.

So i went to the hospital, and of course the whole time I was there I never had a strong contraction like i was having at home. They just hooked me up and the moniter said the baby's heartbeat was great, and that I was having contractions but they were irratic and mild. I was checked and was bearly 1 cm dilated and about 60% effaced... which is better than before. So, i was just sent home with perks for my back and talk to my Dr. about what he wants to do tomorrow at my appointment. Nothing exciting at all :(
