So at my last apt with my high risk dr, which was for my amnio ( went great results came back normal) When they were doing my u/s the tech wasnt saying much but she just kept looking at my babys heart, then she still didnt say anything (after about 30 mins)and went to go get my dr, and he came in and after about another 15 mins, my dr told me that My baby may have a hole in his heart, in the wall that devides the bottom ventricals of his heart, He set me up with an apt to see a pediactric cardiologist, who will look specifically at his heart. Has anyone else been through this? If so what happened in the end was ur baby okay or did he/she need surgery??

You mean like a heart murmur? I was born with one and it eventually went away by itself. Hope everything is okay with your LO.

I was born with a hole in my heart. A murmer often times only means there is an irregular heartbeat. But some people do have a small hole in one of the walls. Mine finally closed on its own by the time I was a teenager.

heres more info

A hole in the heart is a type of simple congenital heart defect

Yes, my baby had the same issue, with the left ventricle. I also went the the pediatric cardiologist so they could take a look with the ultrasound, and it turned out everything was ok, my daughter was born healthy, and needed no surgery.

Syrus had one the size of a quarter (so we were told) and a week before his surgery we went for his final sono and it was healed. they have no idea how it happened or why, but I'm not complaining =] if it hadn't closed he would have needed surgery and they said it would have been at least a 6 hour procedure due to the size of it.

My nephew was born with CHD (Congenital Heart Defect). He has both ASD and VSD.

His was very severe though. He had open heart surgery at 5 months old and now has a whole mess of problems with his renal system because of it.

But, a lot babies are born with holes, most of them close up.
