increased bowel movements late in pregnancy?? Sal4kids 4 kids; United States 435 posts

I know this might be a weird question, but has any one else experienced this and does it mean anything?
I am just about 36 weeks now and for the last 3 days or so I have been having a lot of bowels. I have been going about 2-4 times a day. It's not diareaha (sp?) but it's just so frequent. At first I thought it was something I ate, but it hasn't let up yet. Is this normal late in pregnancy? Does it mean anything? Or could I just have a stomache bug? I did feel a little crampy, achey, and nauseous last night. Any one have any ideas?

I know that can happen when labor is near because the body cleanses itself to prepare.

You could just have a bug though.

Very normal. you dont have much room so your body will speed up the digestion process to make room. I had it last time and this time too.

I've been the same way! It's really annoying.
