Tampon pain TMI. ♥myfunnyguys♥ 3 kids; Nebraska 20448 posts

I had my first PP period about 3 months after Cam was born. It was pretty normal. I used tampons and everything, no problem. This last week I had my 2nd PP period (about 5 1/2 months PP). The first day I used a tampon. It wasn't too uncomfortable, but it wasn't quite normal. The 2nd day when I sat down in the car it felt like I was just being gutted down there with a knife. I couldn't get home fast enough to take it out. I haven't been able to use a tampon since then. It's an excruciating pain. I used the same brand and type of tampon as before. I have no idea why this is going on. Has anyone ever had this happen? (BTW...the tampon had only been in maybe 45 min when the horrible pain started the first time)

Where was the pain? Was it inside your vag or at the opening?

TSS maybe?

ETA: I really dont know much about tampons, I never used them because I always had a pain, and a funny feeling when I used them, so I just stick with pads... and I didnt have a vaginal birth either so my insides never really hurt, so Im not much help, sorry :[

Maybe it scratched or chaffed (sp?) you the wrong way. I haven't been able to use them except for very short timeframes due to the amount of bleeding since having Ian. >.> I now use the Always Infinity pads and LOVE them! They are so comfortable and absorb amazingly!!

i would just put a call in to ur nurses like at ur gyn and ask them what the concerns are/if there are any. they might just tell you not to use them this time and try again with the next period. they might on the other hand bc concerned that you missed a period PP and see that as a concern (idk if thats regular for you or not)?? im not sure what they would do but since its out of the norm and excruciating pain i would just ask - doesnt hurt!

I have been dealing with the same issue... ive had 3 periods since giving birth... the first one after birth i just used pads... i was scared to try a tampon. the second one, i felt like it would pinch the outside part as I was slidding it in... so i thought maybe Im not "lubricated" enough... (lol) but its still like I cant push the tampon all the way in... so it hurts because it feels like its falling out... its like it gets to a certain point and then its like hitting a wall... I was thinking maybe it was because she really sewed me up good, or something.... idk! so this last period i just used pads... i hate them, but at the same time, i didnt feel it was "heavy" enough to trya tampon .... so weird.... Im just taking it as Im still healing.... 4 1/2 months later.... ...... ill try again next month... maybe it will be easier then
