My son is 15 months and he can say mama, dada, bye-bye, nana, and hi (I'm probably forgetting something). The only word that he actually says now is hi. He seems to pick a word that he likes and he won't say any of the others anymore, lol. He does lots of baby talk though. I think he's just going to be one of those kids that doesn't talk until he can speak in full sentences, lol.

80?! That is a lot more than I thought it would be. Imogen is almost 17months & says about110/15 words even though I know she understands a lot more. I don't think I would worry about it that your son isn't talking too much atm. Perhaps he is just working on developing other skills & talking will come later. My nephew, Luke only said about 5/10 words until the age of 2 (my sister & her hubby were very worried especially since their eldest son was an early talker) BUT afterwards it was like BOOM!!! He is 30months old now & is talking in full sentences.

my daughter is almost a year and she says mama and dada even though I know you were asking about 17 month olds. :D
