I need to break his fever! mamabearo 2 kids; Folsom, California 2474 posts

I have to post an run because I just got off work, but I am wondering if anyone has any tips on breaking a baby's fever. My baby is 9 months old and his fever has been going on continuously for two days now. His pedi is going to see him first thing in the morning. Poor baby is miserable. He's eating good but is very tired and lethargic. You can see in his little eyes that he doesn't feel good, and he's extra cuddly. Definitely not his normal self. He normally can't sit still long enough to do any cuddling - he wants to crawl around and explore all the time. But not now. It makes me so sad. :-(

Advice and tips appreciated!!

Thanks!

I have to add - we have been giving the recommended dosage of Tylenol.

you need to alternate tylenol and motrin every four hours. take his clothes off and leave the diaper on. Don't cover him up.

I'm not sure if it works or not, but my mother-in-law swears by onions in their socks. Ugh.

P.S. The fever isn't going to hurt him, it just means his body is fighting an infection. Which is good, and if he is teething, just keep up with the tylenol and motrin.
