After the baby is born, when will my medicaid lose effect?
Normally 6 weeks pp. But a lot of them only cover a few types of BC, you have to look up your medicaids prescription formulary.
i was covered for 6 weeks after i had my son. it does cover birth control, you just have to ask your doctor which ones.
Mine covers IUDs. It might depend on the state. I have mine until I'm 6 months post partum.
it covers u till ur 6 weeks checkup
usually it is 6 weeks, but it varys by state. Most will cover IUDs or something like an Implanon (which I had and LOVED much better than my IUD) you can call your caseworker and have them send you a coverage book
i actually got my medicaid member guide in the mail today and here in utah medicaid will cover the following birth controls: birth control pills, foams, creams, diaphragms, IUDs, contraceptive implants, birth control patches, shots(depo), condoms, emergency birth control (morning after pill) and sterilization.
