I am 21. I am 16 weeks pregnant, due May 25th. I found out at my last dr. appointment that my blood type is O Negative. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?? She said I would have to get a shot to prevent antibodies from forming between baby and myself. But if they do form then the baby could have an allergic reaction to me or I could have one towards the baby. I am kinda nervous about this. I just want my baby to be healthy and well.

I am O negative as well. The shot is very easy with no side effects to it, they do it in the butt, the only thing that might hold you up for it (like me) is my doctor sent me to the hospital to have it done, and I had to sit through the ER until they moved me to their urgent care, where they had to run my blood type with their lab to verify I was in fact O negative despite knowing for a fact I was prior to being pregnant, and from my doctor. After 6 hours of waiting the shot took 3 seconds and I was out. I got my shot at 28 weeks, thats when my doctor said you have to have it.
