I never thought i would make it this far since i had 2 miscarriages in the past. Although im comforted in how far i made it, im still on edge and i just want to know if he will survive if he were born now. Anyone have a baby born at 30 weeks? If so, what happened?

Baby will go to NICU, but will most likely survive (high %)
Baby will probably weigh around 2-4 pounds...

My daughter was born at 31 weeks 6 days, was in the NICU for 28 days, and was 4 pounds when she was born.

My daughter was born at 28w6d. She was 2lbs 14oz and was in the NICU for 7 1/2 weeks. She's got reflux but that's a fairly recent development; she had zero health problems comin' out the gate! Hope this helped!

I had my baby girl at 27 weeks and after spending 12 weeks 1 day, she came home 3 days before her due date, and she is perfectly healthy, with the exception of acid reflux, which I can handle, thinking of anything else that could have gone wrong but it didn't thankfully. When I knew I was going to have her, I had a NICU consult, and at 27 weeks, baby's chance of survival jumps way up, it goes from being 60% at 26 weeks to 90% at 27 weeks.

You may want to check the Parents of Preemies thread but at 30 weeks your baby is definitely viable. It would be a long nicu stay and not an easy task but your baby could very well live.

The problem is it's so varied from one case to another. Your child could be big or small for gestational age, developed anywhere from early to on track, there may be birth complications that cause problems with the baby like getting wrapped in the cord, there could be nothing wrong except for not being fully developed, there really could be anything cerebral palsy, lung problems, low blood sugar, thin skin but over all the odds are good for a 30 week baby. Just remember every day or week you make it now the odds of survival go up drastically.

My friend had her daughter at 32 weeks she had under developed lungs, her skin was paper thin so it could tear easy, and she couldn't nurse but that was it.

I don't think you have to worry about having your baby this early mamma, even if you had 2 miscarriages.. I understand that doesn't stop you from worrying just try not to :-)]
