My daughter was FF and I waited until 9 months. I think that while there is "damage" it isn't nearly as great if it's just formula, rather then starting on a ton of other things too, you know? It's like one thing to do damage rather then like 8 or 9 different types of food to do damage.

That's how I see it at least, haha. Not to mention even formula usually has more good things in it then cereal or even, for the amount, as puree's. I get mad because at 3 or 4 months, heck, they NEED the better calories of formula, not those in cereal!

oh I totally get where you're coming from. no baby really needs the baby cereal and it's still dangerous to start before they show all the signs of readiness, which sadly, most people don't seem to be aware of. They think if their kid is staring at their food or grabbing food, then they must be "ready".

Oh I HATE that! My son is 5 months old and everyone is telling me he needs food. My husband makes the jokes, but he agree's with watinng. My son grabs at my food ALL the time, but that doesn't mean he's ready! He can grab at vodka too, that doesn't mean he should have it! lol.

I am excited though, he's getting closer! He is a chunker too. . . good lord! He was 16lbs at his 4 month check up, so if he continues to gain about 2 a month he'll be like 20lbs at 6 months. Good lord, this kid loves the b**b! haha

my son is actually still gaining weight (he's 18m now), but the pedi was upset that he was BFing so often and wanted me to cut back, even though he eats plenty of solids (IMO anyway). I don't think we will go back to her. She pushes the vaxxes as well and DH doesn't like her either. She is always saying that I am too pale and Finn is too pale and wanting to run blood tests .. we are just pale! that is our normal color!!

yeah really! and we live in Europe, where there are a lot of white people, you think they'd be used to it, but no .. I've never had so many people comment about how pale I am. People here like their tanning beds. lol

I wish I would have found this months ago! I waited until my daughter was around 9 or 10 months to start. My family, and friends kept arguing that I should have started sooner but I felt she wasn't ready. I'm glad I know other mom's felt the same way as i did/do.

Today my little guy goes for his 6 month check up! I'm soooo excited. =D We have a new Dr, so we'll see how good she is about still breastfeeding (almost exclusively).

K, question. What the heck do I do with solids now? I believe he's showing signs of readiness. He turned 6 months about a week ago and we tried a few purees (I always try them and then remember I hate them, lol) and he was NOT a fan. He didn't spit any out, he did fine with the mechanics of eating it, but he hated the taste and I can't blame him

I gave him a mum-mum biscuit thing and he LOVED that however, so I think we have another skip puree's and go straight to solids.

I'm obviously going to start slow, like try 1 attempt at food every day or two (this kid loves b**b and is obviously NOT starving).

Any suggestions at some foods? It feels like forever since I did this with Teagan.
