yesterday i did a good bit of walking. running to different appointments. i kept getting sharp pains that have continued today. i woke up and my legs are so sore, my thighs, and my pelvic bone. i get sharp pains here and there. and my back is killing me. my lower part of my body is just so sore and i feel nothing but pressure. is this from walking or could this be the start of labor??
i was dilated 1 1/2 cm two weeks ago but she hasnt checked to see if i had dilated since.

It doesn't cause contractions, but it does help the body tone up for labor. If you're already in labor, it can help you progress.

yes if it's REAL labor walking will intensify contractions and make them more regular. with BH they usually actually get more irregular and less intense with walking. If you are prone to preterm labor walking and activity can cause you to go into labor hence the reason for bedrest for preterm labor patients

I was walking 3 miles a day to try to make myself dilate but all i got was painful BH contractions that would come even every 2-3 minutes for hours and hours but never led to anything. I never dilated on my own and i had to be induced. I also tried every old wives tale known to man (except castor oil or anything harmful to baby) and nothing worked. I never dilated or effaced on my own...pitocin had to do it.
