I let my mother watch my son for the day. So I come back to her house and pick him up and her friend is their. I sit down and watch TV with my mother for a little bit and then her friend holds my baby upside down by his feet. I freak out when I see this and get my son from her and she says I am being overprotective and she was just having fun. My son is 4 months. Do you think I am being to protective can holding him upside down like that cause damage. I am just curious.

Was she playing with him? Was he smiling or laughing or what? lol
My son is 10 months and I do that among other crazy things that you'd think would scare a child. lol

4 months old seems a little young--especially if it's not your child. I would have had to bitch slap her.

My uncle used to take his kids and hold them by the ankles and throw them up and flip them around, catching them by the waist "just to have fun".
And no, you're not being overprotective. Eff her for thinking she can treat other kids like she treated her kids when she raised them during the dark ages.
I would have went off.

I hold kieran upside down by his thighs, he loves it. He cracks up. He just turned 4 months last week. I mean I don't hold him like that for any kind of extended period of time, more like a few seconds, but i dont think its causing any damage. They're upside down in our tummies, right? Unless its for a long time i dont think its a big deal

I wouldn't like it either. Their little ligaments aren't very strong at that age. I had my shoulder pulled out of place when I was an infant, because my uncle was holding me by just my arms.
