im gonna be a teen mom im 16,
and i was just wondering what other teen moms did to stay in school?
-Stay in highschool throughout all pregnancy.
-Transfer to an excelerated school
-Just drop out
-Or another resort?
im planning on going to an excelerated school & graduating earlybut i also wanna go back to my school for senior year but dont know if thatll be agood option?
but i just wanted to see what other people did & hopefully get ideas .
Whatever you do , don't drop out .
You could atleast try regular highschool and see if you can handle it or not.
Honestly If I had gotten pregnant a year early I would have done independent study .
I had transfered to a charter (accelerated pace) school the day before I found out I was pregnant (ironically), went there until Hayden was about 2 months old, and now I go to the same charter school in a different city, with my boyfriend.
I considered going back for senior year as well, but changed my mind because I'll be graduating 1/2 a year early staying at the charter school.
I went to school. I let my teachers know that I was pregnant and they tried to work with me. Some gave me work ahead of time others stayed late to help. If I had doctors appts they were great with that. They let me leave class early to miss the rush of kids. Just talk to your school. they do help.
i went to an accelerated school and got kicked out (not saying that was a good thing) but im just doing my school online until i finish.
I left my trade school and went to a school for teen moms. It has free, on campus day care and maternity leave.
dropping out was neveerr an option but i think i am gonna juststick to excelerated school and graduate early thanks ladys :)
I started going to an alternative school way before I got pregnant, but that was my choice. It's a small school with 6 teachers and only100 students or so, so everyone already knew me there when I told them I was pregnant. I went to school the whole year up until my due date [which was very end of april].I was 16 when I found out, and 17 when I had him. They were so helpful to me and still are. They work with me a lot now by allowing me to go twice a week and do the rest at home. Not everyone is as lucky as me though. My school doesn't give homework, so that definitely made things easier. You could always look in to that. Whatever you do though, DO NOT drop out!! And if you want to stay at your school now, then do it.But find some way to finish.
Stay in school while being pregnant. Whatever you do don't drop out.
