Rylie just had red poop. does red poop always mean there's blood in it? she hasn't been eating anything but formula but she was put on a medication for a cold, would that make it red? I called the pedi and i'm waiting for a call back. i'm worried, i've never seen poop that is red before

Is the whole poop red? Or little bits and pieces?

My son was on meds that made his bowelmovemnts orange. It could be the meds. And yes...crayons will change the color of it too. My personally fav is the blue kind!

It could very well be the medicine. "generally" when there's blood in the stool it's dark or almost black, unless it's fresh blood. I hope the doctor calls you back soon!

Well I took her in and the pedi said the red poop is from her antibiotic. they tested it just to be sure. but he said that the dosage they instructed us to give her is too much. that i need to give her 1/2 teaspoon instead of 3/4 teaspoon 2x a day. AND the cough syrup the clinic put us on was NOT supposed to be given to an infant. I only gave it to her twice, it's called Triaminic D-the pedi said it's not supposed to be used for children under 4!!!!! UGHHHHHH, This is the last time I'll be taking her to the Physician's Immediate Care
