I am 36 weeks pregnant... I had a BM and there was some bright red blood on the TP andin my stool. I've read and I understand that it is most likely a hemorrhoid. Although there is nothing on the outside, I figured it is probably internal. My concern is that it's a Friday and this ishappening, so my OB is not available unless I go to the ER. SoI wasn't sure if it was something that I should wait till Monday or if I should go to the hospital now. I'm not in any pain what so ever, so I don't know what I should do. Just wait till Monday or go now?

just call, i doubt they'll ask you to come in unless you're bleeding a lot. are you having pains in your butt?

I have 2nd degree internal and external hemorrhoids and that is what happens to me. I would assume that you would be fine until Monday. My bleeding can get so bad that it soaks threw a towel, just a heads up that it can get bad. And this was all when I wasn't pregnant.

Is it just streaks or is it a lot of blood?

Red blood means it is close to the anus. If its just a little then its probably just fissures (little cracks) that got raw and bled a little.

I will just keep an eye out on it over the weekend and if it gets worse then I will, other wise I will just call my OB Monday morning! Thanks for the advice.

I know that this post is old - but I'm still gonna answer for people googling it who needs answers still. I have "record breaking" 'rhoids from being pregnant. So says the Dr at the Hospital and they called several other people in the room to check them out when I was pregnant with my second daughter, and this time as well. ( Not fun ) They bleed with and without bowel movements. I also have IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome ) and have had polyps removed several times with colonoscopies. This blood was ALSO a lighter red color and not the BLACK that someone is talking about. Black blood comes from something higher up in the intestinal tract ( like upper intestines, stomach, esophagus ) So, you never know. I would worry if you are having colon cramping or if the blood gets pretty bad. If it's ONLY bowel or rectum related - but if you EVER have vaginal bleeding - just GO to the hospital/ER.
