My name is Tobey, I'm 28, married to Mike and mom to Jasper, 2. I'm expecting our 2nd child after suffering a miscarriage in December of '08 - he is due June 15th, 2010 and his name is George Alistair Connor (Georgie for short). I can't wait to meet him!!
After 2 hospital stays, I have an induction date of June 6th. Georgie hasn't been passing his NST's very well, he doesn't want to move! I'll be going in to the hospital Sunday to have the gel put on my cervix, and stay overnight - if nothing by Monday morning, they will start the Pitocin. Here's hoping it all works out smoothly!
George Alistair Connor was born at 6:55PM on June 7th, 2010 in Bar Harbor, ME after 7 hours of labor (induced). I was given Cervadil the night before, and was thick and closed - but in the morning, was 70% effaced and a good 1 centimeter dilated! It really helped the Pitocin to work quickly, and I pushed for 45 minutes. Georgie weighed 6lbs 5oz and measured 22" long -- a LONG boy! He smiled at me as soon as he was placed on my stomach...the next morning he was transported by ambulance to the NICU to the hospital in Bangor an hour away, where he remains. He has hypotonia, and is too weak to nurse. The doctors suspect Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, and we get the results any day now.
Georgie is my angel, I adore him with all my heart and it's so hard not being able to have him at home!
July 3rd:
Georgie is finally at home with us! After 3 weeks in NICU, 3 different hospitals and surgery to put a g-tube in his stomach, he is finally home. He was officially diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome June 16th, and we have our hands full with specialists since it is a rare disorder. He has very little muscle strength, which is why he must be tube-fed, and he sleeps 99% of the time. Hopefully he will be started on GH (growth hormone) and with that, he might be up to normal muscle mass by 12 months old! He is the sweetest little angel and smiles a TON! :)

A bit about me....
I'm an eclectic sort of person -- lived a lot of places, tried a lot of things. Finally settled down into family life, which I love! I'm into Eastern religions, but was raised Catholic by a Wiccan mom and Buddhist dad. Hah! I love history, music and nature. I collect antiques, mostly books and weird things. I love classical music and classic Rock (think Beethoven and Pink Floyd), and spend a lot of time in the bathtub relaxing. I suffer from a variety of anxiety disorders, which keeps me at home a lot, but I manage to get by.
Other than that, we live in a small town in Downeast Maine in a cottage near the seaside with our 4 cats:

I love our son Jasper! He is the most beautiful little boy and such a unique soul. He was diagnosed with autistic disorder in Jan. '10. This coming Fall he will be starting in a special developmental school for toddlers, and we couldn't be more excited about that! He will LOVE being a big brother to Georgie and I can't wait to see them together for the first time.
Jasper was born on December 15th, 2007 at 7:21PM. He weighed 7 pounds, and was 21 inches long! (Sevens much? hehe)
We were trying for a homebirth but after 47 hours of laboring we finally had to go to the hospital, as I was not dilating enough and suffering from maternal exhaustion. It was a bummer but at the time I was so relieved to be getting that baby out of me! I was induced at 11am and had my waters broken, and 8 1/2 hours later Jasper arrived (breaking my tailbone on his way out -- a pain in the butt from the start! haha). He was a perfectly healthy screamer and has grown like a weed! I can't believe our beautiful boy is 2 years old already. And he will soon be a big brother! We are expecting Georgie in June.
