Hi, my name is Alicia Hilburn. I've been married since July of 2009 to my wonderful husband Daniel and we have been together since 2005. We have a 6 year old daughter who is in 1st grade, and a baby boy, who just turned 1 on August 11th. My husband and I both go to Southern Illinois University for two completely different degrees. I am going into Criminal Justice and he is going for Computer Management. I love my family more than anything, and I couldn't ask for better.

39801_1460537086176_1615900645_1146477_4Daniel was born with the cord wrapped around his neck at 39 weeks 1 day. I was induced because of my high blood pressure and mild pre-eclampsia. I was so scared when he was born because he didn't cry and he was completely blue. When he did start to cry it was only a whimper and when i looked over he was having chest convulsions. I got to hold him for only a second before they took him to the nursery. Finally at 7 pm the nurses came in to take me to my son. When I got there to see him I couldn't help but cry because he had tubes down his throat, IV's and wires coming off of him every where. Doctors ordered oxygen to help his lungs, so he was on oxygen for 30 hours. It wasn't because his lungs weren't ready, its because the cord was wrapped around his neck. He got sent to a NiCu at a different hospital because ours didn't have one. I couldn't see him till the next morning which really made me sad. He stayed in the NiCu for 5 days and finally got to come home with me. I decided after all hes been through that I would no longer bottle feed and I would give him the real stuff. Now that he is home with us, he has been doing so much better and I couldn't ask for a more perfect baby.

When Charlene was born she weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She was born at Memorial Hospital at 8:20 am on March 8th 2005.
I went to 42 weeks when I was pregnant with her, but was completely normal considering it was my first pregnancy. Charlene is spoiled rotten because she is the only child as of right now. She loves to ride her bike and go to the park and she just started Kindegarten this year. She is a very good big sister to her baby brother, even though she wanted a little sister. He-he! Right now she is 5 years old and I ask myself every day, where did time go? She is about to turn 6... :(
