There are few Hollywood couples that fans care about as deeply as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. This is primarily due to the fact that the pair of actors and philanthropists seem exceptionally authentic with their followers as well as, most importantly, with each other.

Nowadays, we can smell fraudulence from a mile away. We've gotten really good at it because we're constantly around news outlets that want to sell us stories about celebrities that just aren't true. And with increasingly easy access to these celebrities, via social media, we can determine the truth pretty quickly. But we don't have to put in any of this effort with Lively and Reynolds.

The pair may be two of the most beautiful and fit people around, but they also come across as the most down-to-earth and open. This makes us adore them even more. They make it fun to see their films and appearances on talk shows and to follow their witty social media accounts, and copy their style. But it's important to remember that these two A-listers weren't always who we see today. That's why we've created a list with some of the oldest photos of these two love-birds on the Internet. Without further ado, here are 10 pictures of Blake Lively growing up (and 10 of Ryan Reynolds).

20 Way Back In 2006

This is an image of Blake Lively at the 2006 Linea Pelle 20th Anniversary celebration. Here she looks really thrilled and equally inexperienced. There was no effort to make herself into something she wasn't. Her make-up was minimal and her hair was natural. This is right after she had her first big role in the film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It was based on a book, by Ann Brashares, that she really loved. This made it all the more special when the film adaptation came knocking on her door. Prior to this, she had really only done a couple of very minor roles in small films like 1998's Sandman. However, her part in Pants allowed her to got to events like this and set her up for the big role that would set her up for life.

19 Always A Big Bowl Of Classy

There's no better photo from Ryan Reynold's youth than one of him wearing double denim while holding a fish and having his fly wide open. We can only guess that it perfectly captures who this kid was back in 1983 when this image was taken. What we do know is that this image still perfectly captures who the man is today. After all, this is something we can imagine his Deadpool character making fun of in one of his films. The image was taken somewhere in B.C., Canada, where Reynolds was born and grew up. He continues to be deeply proud of his hometown of Vancouver and has lobbied for it to be the filming location of all the Deadpool movies, providing the province with thousands of jobs.

18 Baby Blake

This is one of the only high-quality images from Blake Lively's childhood. After all, she and her family have done a pretty good job keeping her past personal to her. Lively was born in 1987 in the Tarzana neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, where this photo was undoubtedly taken. The style we see Lively wearing here is a far cry from what we see her in today. But then again, every child has a drastically different style than when they're older. This image was taken when Lively was at the age where her parents wanted to put her in the acting classes that they taught rather than leave her with a babysitter. Clearly, these classes paid off, as Lively has become on the biggest stars in the world.

17 Ryan The Teenage Witch

Young people only know Sabrina The teenage Witch from the current Netflix show, but most Millenials remember the comics, as well as the 1990s show that starred Melissa Joan Hart. However, they may not remember that Ryan Reynolds was actually in the pilot of the show. To be more accurate, Reynolds starred as Seth in a TV movie called Sabrina The Teenage Witch that served as the pilot for the show to come. However, Reynolds didn't transfer over to the show after he shot the TV movie. But perhaps this is a good thing since we're not sure we could have handled looking at that hairdo any longer than a two-hour film.

16 Long Before The Red Carpet

There's no way that this Nike T-shirt would win Blake Lively any points on the red carpet nowadays. But back when she was a toddler, comfort was far more important than style. This very cute picture of Lively was taken back when she was living with her large family in Tarzana, Los Angeles. At the time, she lived with her mother, Eliane, and her dad, Ernie Lively. She and her brother Eric are the only two kids from both of these parents. But they have three half-siblings from their mother's first marriage that took on the Lively name; Lori, Robyn, and Jason Lively. Both of Lively's parents, as well as ALL of her siblings, are in the entertainment business. Therefore, it only made sense that she joined, herself.

15 Ryan And Keri

Both Ryan Reynolds and Keri Russell look so young and fresh-faced here. The photo of the two of them was taken at the Sundance Film Festival years before either of them became the mega-stars they are today. This was long before Reynolds dawned the red-and-black suit and katanas and far before Russell became a spy for a hit modern show. But their youth is far from the most extraordinary thing about this image. Perhaps one of the oddest things about this image of Reynolds, besides his poor complexion, is the fact that he looks quite a bit like Dylan and Cole Sprouse do now.

14 The Prom Queen Collage

Of course, before dating celebrities like Penn Badgley and, certainly, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively had a high school boyfriend like many teenagers do. We don't know if Lively or her ex made this romantic collage, but we do know that's it's absolutely precious. Here we get a very personal look at how happy, popular, and fun-loving this young actor was at the time. Her ex seems to be well-suited for her, as he portrayed the same hammy energy that she did. The collage also features photos from Lively's 2005 prom, to which she went in a rather slick baby blue dress that her ex just had to try on for himself.

13 Ryan And Jeff Back In The Day

This is one of the earliest photos of Ryan Reynolds on the Internet. It was taken at his family home in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. In the photo, we see the connection between Ryan and his brother, Jeff. Ryan is the youngest of four brothers, the rest of the crew named Jeff, Patrick, and Terry. Two of his brothers are police officers in B.C., Canada, and the other is a member of the Mounted Police. Because one of his brothers is part of the RCMP, Ryan has included their uniform in the Deadpool movies as an homage. But, of course, we're here to talk about this photo specifically, which shows Ryan in his middle-class home during a time when things were fairly normal. He was a typical kid in the late 1970s and early 1980s who had no idea just how big of a star he would become.

12 Back In Burbank

If you think Blake Lively was one of the popular girls in high school, like her character on Gossip Girl, well, you'd be right. There's just no way that a gorgeous, L.A. blonde like this would be allowed to be a school oddity. However, Lively wasn't a ditzy, trendy type. She was involved in a huge variety of clubs at Burbank High School. She was a cheerleader, a member of the championship choir, and was even the head of her class student body. Even though she was involved, popular, and beautiful, she, like many teenagers, also had to endure braces, as we can see in this class photo of her.

11 Ryan Capshaw Arquette

At the time this photo was taken, Ryan Reynolds was really only known as the boy from Fifteen, and The Odyssey, and Seth from the Sabrina The Teenage Witch TV movie. This is with the exception of the film that is being celebrated in this photograph. In 1997, a movie called The Alarmist came out. It starred, David Arquette, Stanley Tucci, Kate Capshaw, Mary McCormack, and Ryan Reynolds himself. This photo was taken at the premiere of the film and depicts Reynolds with his co-stars, Arquette (AKA Courtney Cox's ex-husband), and Capshaw (AKA Steven Spielberg's wife). Based on the body language in this photo, the cast got along quite well. And maybe Capshaw saw something in her young and handsome co-star.

10 A Fashion Evolution

Back in 2005, Blake Lively was clearly into some of the bubblegum colors that were fashionable at the time. In this photo, she was at the 2005 Kid's Choice Awards marketing The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and making sure that everyone knew that she was someone to contend with. Not long after this image was taken, she went to work on the movie Accepted, which she co-starred with Justin Long and Jonah Hill. She credits her experience on this movie with giving her the confidence to hold her own alongside comedy greats like Long and Hill. Then, of course, she took on a very different role in Gossip Girl.

9 When Spiked Hair Was A Thing

This is a promotional photo from the later years of Ryan Reynold's first popular television show, Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. It can be found on many of their posters, DVD cases, and so on. The show was about three twenty-somethings who shared a Boston apartment and constantly hung around a pizza place where they also worked. The show ran for a total of four years and was the base of not only Ryan Reynolds's stardom but Nathan Fillion's, as well. Ryan looked quite young in these photos. Unfortunately, the hair stylist must have hated him, as his very 1990s cut is particularly noticeable. Oh well, at least his hair has improved since.

8 Blake The Spice Girl

Although Blake Lively didn't grow up in a super-wealthy family, her parents did give her the opportunity to do what every kid dreams of, seeing their favorite band live in concert. In this photo, we see Blake Lively dressing up as her favorite Spice Girl, Baby, as she got to see them play in Los Angeles. It shouldn't take any of us aback that Lively was a big Spice Girls fan, as so many people of her age were. We also learn some other things about Lively from this image, mainly how confident she was. Lively must have been about 13 or 14 when this picture was taken and was already showing signs of being very comfortable in front of the camera.

7 Smolder For The Camera

Ryan Reynolds really started to make it in the big leagues around the time of this photograph. It was 2003-2004 when he played a glorified male nurse in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and then played a ripped supernatural detective in Blade: Trinity. In all likelihood, this image was taken for the publicity of the Blade film. Of course, Reynolds would be typecast as the attractive action star for quite a few films after this. That's with the exception of a couple of films, including Fireflies in the Garden and Definitely, Maybe. But who cares? We all got to see more of this outlandishly attractive dude.

6 Life Before Ryan

We often have to learn a lot about ourselves, what we want, and what we don't want before we are ready to settle down with someone for an extended period of time. One of the best ways to do this is by dating. Blake Lively certainly spent a long period of time seriously dating one or two other guys before getting together with Ryan Reynolds. In this image, we see her with her co-star Penn Badgley, who also played her most consistent love-interest on Gossip Girl. The pair met on set and dated on and off. But they were very private about it to start with. When they called it quits the first time, they were in the middle of filming the Season 2 finale. But the cast and crew were none the wiser. When they got back together later on, the press caught on and photographed images like this one.

5 Life Before Blake

Just like Lively, Reynolds had a couple of very notable relationships before their union. In this picture, we see Reynolds with singer Alanis Morisette. The pair started seeing one another in 2002 and eventually announced their engagement two years after that. This image must have been taken during that time period, as things went pretty sour not long after. In 2007, the pair decided to part ways. But media reports claim that their split wasn't pleasant at all. Morisette even said that her album Flavors of Entanglement was based on the unhappiness she was feeling due to the split. Additionally, apparently, neither one of them would do the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony if the other did. At the end of the day, Morisette ended up going and performed "Wonderkind."

4 "You Look Young. XOXO, Gossip Girl"

This one of the first promotional photos that Gossip Girl ever used. It depicts their lead character,  the mysterious and alluring Serena van der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively. Essentially, this slightly air-brushed image was what helped solidify Lively as a bonafide star. Even she wouldn't disagree that the CW's Gossip Girl is what made her famous, even though The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was her first big film. Of course, nowadays, Lively is somewhat conflicted about her past on the show since she wanted to do something with more depth and dynamic. However, she appreciates the fact that the show gave her the start she needed.

3 Ryan, A Guy, A Girl, And A Pizza Place

Instead of being on the Sabrina The Teenage Witch series, Ryan Reynolds starred in a number of series, including The Outer Limits. But his real big break was when he played one of the leads in Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place which started in 1998. This image depicts Reynolds with his two co-stars. In the show, Reynolds played a medical student, Michael "Berg" Bergen, throughout the show's four-season run. The show may have gone down as a cult favorite. But it totally set him up to be a movie star. But this makes total sense since even back then Reynolds was a charming, good looking, and talented man.

2 From Indie Films To The "It" Girl

By 2007, Lively's style had changed immensely, as we can see from this photo from the 2017 MTV Awards. This is because she was a lot more confident and had far more responsibility than she did when she first started hitting red carpets and formal events in 2005-2006. This is because she was the star of her very own CW show by 2007. Although she did continue to do some indie films such as Elvis and Anabelle, she was mostly taken over by her role on Gossip Girl. However, she didn't entirely connect with the character. In an interview with the Associated Press, she said, "Serena was brought up very differently than I was brought up… Serena was given everything her whole life… I grew up in a small little town in California — Burbank. I went to high school [and] what we would do on our nights off [was] go to a school fundraiser, go to a football game, where these people have masquerade balls or go lounge at The Palace Hotel and sip martinis."

1 "Well, Hello There"

Like many up-and-coming actors, Ryan Reynolds spent a good time doing fashion shoots. Of course, he had the physique and looks for it, so it makes sense that he would get a constant stream of work. This photo, however, may have actually been one of his headshots. It shows him off to be an attractive, fit male lead that is plain enough to be molded into a variety of looks. This is something that many casting directors would have liked as his look wasn't too specific. Still, the hair and the make-up person probably could have taken things down a notch for this image. Then again, hair that looked this slippery was all the rage back in the 1990s.
