Celebrities are unique creatures, they are almost like a foreign species that normal people all try to understand. They seem to live in their own separate world and they live lifestyles that everyone else could not even imagine. We may dream about it, but we will never know what it is like to be ‘one of them.’
One thing that we all seem to assume about celebrities is that they all must have some pretty big egos. It would make sense, they constantly have people fawning over them, screaming their names, crying and begging for an autograph or a picture. It is pretty easy for one to get a big head when they are surrounded by people who think they are the best thing since sliced bread.
In a lot of ways, celebrities are like us. They are just humans after all, they are genetically no different or more special than the rest of us. They also have families. Sure, their families may be a bit different and their children rarely lack for anything, but they are still mothers. Being a mother tends to humble anyone, so does it humble celebrities?
We have found ten celebrity mothers that still continue to carry a large ego despite being a mother, and ten that have stayed humble and are trying to set a good example for their children.
20 Beyoncé Is Top Offender
It is easy to see that Queen B is one of the top offenders when it comes to having a high ego. Why shouldn’t she? She has millions of fans all over the world and her high-profile relationship seems to have all eyes on her at all times.
One of the moments where we can see a bit of this ego show is in song lyrics to her hit ‘Partition.’ The lyrics go like this, “The main ain’t ever seen a [behind] like this. Any why you think you keep my name rollin’ off the tongue? Cause when you wanna smash, I just write another one. I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker. Yonce all on his mouth like liquor.”
19 X-Tina Is On A Roll
She may not be as much of a household name as she once was, but Christina Aguilera continues to show that she believes she is one of the top performers and is a grade-A diva. She battled for years in the 90’s next to Britney Spears and a lot of people think she came out on top. It wasn’t until the release of her album ‘Bionic’ that the world really got to see just how big her ego is.
Here is what she had to say in the 2012 Billboard article about this album; “I can proudly say it was ahead of its time, to be honest. You had to be a real music lover, be a true fan of music and the love of being open to really appreciate that record.”
18 Mariah Is The Queen Of Divas
No one thought that they would get very far on this list without seeing the real queen of diva’s show up, and they were right. It is only to be expected that Mariah Carey would show up on this list. Mariah has a voice that can reach your soul and break records, and no one knows this more than she does.
In 2013, on America Idol, there was a quote by Mariah Carey that got a lot of people talking when it came to her larger than life ego. She stated, “I didn’t go to no music school. I went to the school [of] life.” Not so nice language for a mother of two.
17 Not Reese!
This one is a little shocking as Reese Witherspoon was often seen as one of the humblest celebrities you could find, and perhaps she portrays someone who is very humble, but the truth will always come out. Reese found herself in some trouble with the police for driving while intoxicated. Alcohol is often called a truth elixir because of the ability it gives us to say how we really feel.
During a recorded conversation that took place during her arrest, Reese was heard asking the arresting officer if he knew her name. When he replied that he didn’t need to know her name, she responded with, “You’re about to find out who I am … You are going to be on national news.”

Believe it or not, we are still on the section of moms with big ego’s as we get to Gwyneth Paltrow and her large ego. She is another celebrity that many often see as someone who is down-to-earth, but she is really not.
In an interview by Elle UK in 2009, Gwen was quoted as saying, “I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes $25, 000 a year.” Sure, you can Gwen, a lot of other celebrities do. Fans did not like how it appeared that she was looking down on people who earn that kind of money every year.

Kenya Moore is not a household celebrity name, and she is also not a mom, yet. Kenya is from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and in April of this year she announced that she was expecting her first child. A moment that is special and normally humbles a lot of people, but not Kenya.
This is what she had to say, “I am ghetto. But I’m also sophisticated, educated, classy. I’m a lot of things. That’s all a part of my magic, sweetheart.” We all know we are special, but we don’t always feel right flaunting it as if we have no negative traits either.

Scarlett is a very well-known and loved actress. She is beautiful, talented and always appears very soft and gentle. The difference with Scarlett and the other moms on our list is that she actually admitted that she had a large ego.
She stated a while back that not only her, but every actor, has a large ego even if they won’t admit it. “I am an actor and all actors think that they are ‘the one.’ It’s part of our huge egos.” We can give her some credit for admitting it, but if someone knows they have a problem, maybe they should work on fixing it.
13 Tina Fey Seems So Nice!
Tina Fey is known for being an actor, producer and a hilarious comedian. It is not a secret that a lot of comedians suffer with mental health concerns like depression and that they use humour as a way of coping. Now, we are not saying the same about Tina Fey – we don’t know her personally. However, she does seem to have a large ego, like she knows that she is better than everyone else.
This came out at a Golden Globes ceremony when she was seen insulting a fellow actress. She stated, “Anne Hathaway, you gave a stunning performance in Les Misérables. I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars.” Ouch!

We had to group all of these mom’s together, because the article is not all about them, which is probably what they would have wanted. The moms among the Kardashian clan are known for having large egos, and no one is really sure why. Other than the fact that they have a reality show, they are not your typical celebrities.
What makes people believe that they have large egos, is that there is not a moment that the family does not try and capture and make money off of. They believe that everything in their lives needs to be aired because everyone is desperate to watch it right? I guess the fans are partly to blame for this one.

Now, this one is in a bit of a grey area. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has seemingly changed since becoming a mom and has calmed down quite a bit. She left behind such a legacy that she will always be branded as a reality star with an ego that is bigger than her hair ever was.
When she appeared on ‘Jersey Shore’ she flaunted everything too much for people to think she was anything but someone with a large ego. She was known for being a sloppy partier, and unfortunately those titles will always remain with you, no matter how many children you have or how much better you are doing now.

When we think of celebrities we don’t often think of novel authors, but some of them are just as high profile as mega actors and actresses. J.K Rowling is one of those authors. In 2012, Rowling’s fortune was well past $1 billion, but she donated a lot of that her charity funds. She also uses her married name in real life and likes to wear quite simple clothes. With all this talk about mom’s, we are starting to think that all Hollywood men are egotistical. This is not true, there are a lot of humble dad’s out there and we thought we would highlight one of them. Will Smith has known fame for a long time, starting as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He went on to have a music career, an acting career and a herd of children with his wife. He has remained humble throughout it all.
Will Smith has stated that he does not see himself as someone who has extreme talent, that he is just slightly above average. Small words for such a big and very talented star. He is leading a great example for his children as they all enter the music and acting world.
