Fashions and styles are almost as unique as the people wearing them. Anyone that has ever been shopping or went to a runway show knows that styles and preferences vary. Some people love to dress up and wear bodycon dresses everywhere they go and still others prefer sweatpants even if they aren’t headed to the gym.

Some people prefer to simply feel comfortable in what they are wearing, others want to look stylish, some want to wear outfits that accentuate their ‘assets.’ In truth, when we see some celebrities, we have to wonder why they dress like they just got out of bed or grabbed their choices out of the charity bin reject pile.

Celebrities often get dehumanized for people’s entertainment, especially if they are women. Apparently, as a female celebrity, they are expected to look perfect and chic any time they go outside of their home, and sometimes even at home while lounging around their own backyard. That is especially true when it comes to the clothing they choose to wear.

Magazines and entertainment shows will critique what a celeb is wearing and whether it makes her look she's carrying too much weight, in ways they would never critique their own mother or sister. This is exceptionally true for celebs who choose to dress a little bit bohemian and wear looser fitting clothes or lots of layers.

The following list mentions celebs that are regularly critiqued for their style choices appearing to look like they may have been maternity shopping when they chose the outfit.

13 Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is long over her days as a reality TV starlet on the Simple Life. She has certainly matured and with it so has her style to that of a much more grown up woman and mother. In fact, Nicole is quite the style icon for boho chic, which is a fun ethereal style, and normally a great and comfortable option for busy women everywhere.

The downside to Nicole’s lovely style is that sometimes boho can also mean lots of layers, and empire waists which can make even the thinnest of people look like they may have a bun in the oven. Nicole Richie, however usually looks amazing, and is far better dressed than many other celebs who think skin tight is the only option in the world for a woman.

Nicole has even made her style work for her and created her own boho chic fashion line called House of Harlow.

12 Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore has had a decade’s long career in Hollywood. Her career started with her first role in E.T. as a young child and now reaches into 2017 with her starring in the Netflix original Santa Clarita Diet with Timothy Olyphant. While her career has changed and she has certainly matured from the partying ‘90s star she once was, one thing that hasn’t is her eclectic style.

Barrymore has always preferred patterns and layering.

While many Hollywood stars prefer to dress in neutral colors and slimming designs, it appears Barrymore prefers comfort. Preferring comfort makes sense, after all, she is a mother of young children and works. so her clothes need to be functional.

Plus, it is not as though Barrymore needs to dress a certain way in order to maintain her fame, she is and will always be a fairly well-respected actress with a long career. In fact, Barrymore has even spoken out about the fact that she now has children and would prefer to be comfortable and able to run after them instead of wearing heels and having a nanny chasing her children.

11 Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian is the "black sheep" in her family. While her sisters, including the younger ones, are constantly showing off their figure in bodycon dresses, and cleavage-baring tops, Kourtney prefers a different style. Sure, before she had kids she was often spotted in a bikini and she still is sometimes, but her current go-to style could sometimes pass for maternity wear.

But standing out is what many of the Kardashians appear born to do and for Kourtney, that may mean standing out in her own family.

Kourtney is much more of a homebody than the other Kardashians and is usually posting pictures of herself and her children at home or even cuddling in bed. Maybe that is why Kourtney prefers a more bohemian and relaxed style than her famous sisters. Whatever the reason is, it’s probably much better suited for taking care of children than stilettos and leather leggings.

While she might be subject to constant pregnant rumors because of her wardrobe choices, she sets the record straight every now and then with an Instagram shot with her in a tiny bikini.

10 Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes might be known as one of Hollywod's best looking actresses, but since she recently stepped out of the spotlight and began designing her own clothing line, people are shocked at her current style. Eva is now frequently seen out and about in loose floral dresses, large t-shirts, and even maxi skirts, pretty much every woman’s favorite maternity options.

Her style is surprisingly laid back and conservative. While her fashion choices are not shocking for an average mother, they are shocking for a celebrity who used to rock heels and skin tight dresses married to Ryan Gosling, one of Hollywood’s heartthrobs.

Since Eva Mendes is incredibly attractive, it may be shocking to know that she once considered becoming a nun (she was raised Roman Catholic). Perhaps that is why her personal style is so conservative. Some people may say her dressing so conservatively makes it look as though she is hiding a pregnancy.

With two little girls to look after, it’s quite understandable that she wants to dress comfortably. It's still quite refreshing to see such a beautiful actress dress so much like a real woman, but there are times when her outfits have unfortunately caused her to look a bit on the pregnant side.

9 Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham is an actress and director best known for her work on the HBO series Girls. She also happens to write a feminist blog and be an outspoken political activist. She's a 30-year-old woman and unlike many of her Hollywood peers, she doesn't care too much about fashion.

Having a perfect body and good fashion sense seems to be a prerequisite for Hollywood, but actresses like Lena are challenging those sexist ways.

Lena is an outspoken feminist and would probably hate being included on this list just because she prefers to dress comfortably. However, the fact is the types of clothing she prefers are sweat pants, t-shirts, loose fitting dresses and flats. All of which are a pregnant women's preference when it comes to comfort.

Regardless of what anyone may think, Lena probably doesn't care because fashion opinions don't seem high on her priority list. What is higher on Lena Dunham’s priority list is being politically outspoken and ending sexism.

8 Lisa Kudrow

Lisa Kudrow is best known for her role on the hit TV series that became a cultural phenomenon, Friends. She played the lovable and quirky character Phoebe Buffay for ten years and received quite a few awards for the role. Her character in the show always dressed much more comfortable and more relaxed than the other two female leads on the show.

Lisa probably didn't have a problem with how her character dressed since it was very similar to how she herself dresses in real life.

Lisa Kudrow only has one child, but during the height of her fame in the early 2000s, she was the subject of many pregnancy rumors because some of her style choices made her look pregnant. In fact, Lisa has spoken out about her style and said that she never felt the need to dress provocatively or overly feminine because that's just not who she is.

So, if people think she dresses like a pregnant woman, she probably wouldn't care and honestly, shouldn’t.

7 Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen dress kind of homeless. That's not a very eloquent way of putting it, but it is accurate. They have their own fashion line with very beautiful designs, but they never seem to wear those designs, instead opting for vintage and often ill-fitting dresses layered with many other pieces.

Neither Ashley nor Mary Kate has any biological children and both women are very petite, yet they constantly dress as though they are concealing baby bumps. In fact, for years, tabloids tried to say one or both girls were concealing a pregnancy because of how they dressed.

The Olsen twins began their Hollywood career as child stars. They both took turns playing the same baby on the sitcom Full House when they were only six-months old. Once Full House ended, the girls went on to star in many straight to video movies and then one big-screen film New York Minute.

After that film, their image drastically changed and they stepped out of the spotlight and dress in a very maternity-like fashion. Nowadays if they are spotted it's usually not on a red carpet, but rather at fashion shows for their clothing line. While they clearly have a beautiful fashion sense as witnessed in their clothing line, they no longer feel the need to dress like movie stars since they spent all of their youth doing that already.

6 Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson is best known as the younger sister to Jessica Simpson the successful pop star and fashion designer. But Ashlee has been successful in her own way, in fact, Ashlee was 11 when she began attending the School of American Ballet in New York, which made her the youngest person to ever go there.

She also has been in a few television shows and films, as well as had her own albums. She is much more than just a little sister to someone more famous and her unique style showcases that she is different than her sister.

Currently, Ashlee Simpson lives a life out of the spotlight although she's occasionally spotted on red carpets. Ashlee is married to Diana Ross's son, Evan Ross and together they share a daughter and Ashlee also has a child from her prior marriage to Pete Wentz.

While she has been pregnant twice and regained her pre-baby shape, she never seemed to stop wearing bohemian maternity-looking clothes. However, with Ashlee’s figure and well-known style, she is not often mistaken for a pregnant woman even if she dresses similarly to one.

5 Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg was at one time a big movie star, winning awards for her film work in movies such as The Color Purple. She also starred in many comedies. She has had a long and diverse career including her current work of being a host on The View where she is comedic and quite often politically outspoken. She also does stand-up comedy and has had success with that as well.

Perhaps what Whoopi is best known for aside from her film career is her clothing style. She goes to fashion shows and red carpet events regularly, but always seems to dress the same for every event. Her go-to style is loose knit pants and tops almost like a pregnant woman on vacation. She has worn this maternity-type style for decades and it doesn't appear she'll ever change it.

She has one child and maybe during that pregnancy, she realized how comfortable maternity clothing is and decided to stick with it.

4 Amy Adams

Amy Adams is one of the highest paid American actresses today and simply put, absolutely beautiful. However, her street style is not flashy, in fact, it is very laid back, so much so that she is constantly the subject of pregnancy rumors. She is often seen out running errands with her children and husband wearing sweatshirts, running shoes, and baggy jeans.

She isn't a typical Hollywood actress when it comes to style, but rather more closely relates to a typical mother.

While Amy may dress in maternity fashion while home with her family or running errands, she does often dress impeccably for the red-carpet. In other words, Amy Adams is just like everyone else. She has a preferred style for home and casual events and certain outfits she has to wear for work.

While some celebs wouldn't leave their homes without heels on (cough, cough Kim Kardashian), Amy seems to care more about functionality than fashion, at least when it comes to being out and about with her family, but who can blame her?

3 Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller is a model and actress. Miller may be best known for having been in a relationship with Jude Law that ended shortly after he had an affair with his children's nanny. But before that affair, she was credited with helping start the boho chic trend. The trend involves peasant tops, layering, and vintage almost ‘70s vibes.

In some ways, Sienna continued Kate Moss’s heroin chic look from the ‘90s, but a healthier version more suitable for today’s world.

Boho chic also happens to be extremely similar to maternity style. Boho chic and maternity styles both include under bust cinching and loose flowing fabric around the midsection. For Sienna Miller and her preferred style, this means she may sometimes look as though she is wearing maternity clothes even when she is not pregnant.

However, with Sienna being so thin it’s quite unlikely she would get mistaken for a pregnant woman.

2 Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner is an amazing Hollywood actress best known for roles such Sidney Bristow on the television series Alias and the films Elektra and Daredevil. However, Garner has always maintained that her most important job to her is raising her children well. She appears to be a very down to earth mom who is very active in her children's lives.

She is frequently spotted at her daughter's soccer games.

One thing people can't get over is speculating whether she is pregnant. Garner has publicly said she is done having children, yet people constantly critique her wardrobe and wonder if she could be trying to conceal a baby bump when in reality she is just dressing like most women do.

Garner has even spoken candidly about her “mom pooch” stating that people can stop wondering if she's pregnant, she just has had children and her stomach is now no longer concave.

1 Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is an actress best known for her roles in movies Into the Blue and Honey. These roles made her a bit of an Adonis. She was also frequently spotted out on the beach in skimpy bikinis. It helped that the roles she was selected for often had her dressed skimpily, which is how most Hollywood women get their status as the hottest thing in Hollywood.

Nowadays, Jessica still acts, but her main duties include raising her children and running her company. Her company is the Honest Company, which sells all natural diapers and other healthcare items. Suffice it to say, most of her life revolves around being a mother, even her company.

Since she became a mom she began to dress more conservatively and sometimes even a little bit too similar to maternity style. Granted she’s still seen out and about in bikinis every now and then, but mostly her wardrobe is much more motherly.
