We've seen the Kardashian sisters evolve over the years, transforming themselves from typical glam California girls to a family whose popularity knows no bounds. Not only are they always on the cutting edge of fashion and beauty, but the Kardashian sisters have become body goals for many women. Kim has always embraced her curves, Kourtney works hard to be as healthy as possible and Kylie looks like she's never been pregnant.
Now that Kim, Kourtney, Kylie, and Khloe are all moms, women everywhere have looked to this famous family to see just how quickly they've been able to bounce back after pregnancy.
But how have the Kardashians gotten their killer bodies? Sure, having personal chefs and trainers definitely helps, but the famous sisters have also gone to some pretty extreme lengths to make sure their bodies are always in tip top shape, and they definitely work hard at it as well.
From strict meals to sharing personal trainers, here's how the Kardashians make sure they maintain their killer bodies.
14 Kourtney Drinks Apple Cider Vinegar
While Kim may be getting serious about her fitness recently and Khloe's revenge body is still amazing even though she's pregnant, it's Kourtney who has always seemed to be the most dedicated to clean eating not just for herself but her entire family.
In addition to being gluten free, the reality star stays away from sugar and also has another little habit that she incorporates into her daily life that may seem crazy to some of you. Kourtney wrote on her website that in addition to cutting out sugar and making her own salad dressings, she also drinks two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day.
"I drink a ton of water during the day and I also drink a glass of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar twice a day (in the morning and at night).”
Some say that apple cider vinegar helps regulate your blood sugar and aid in weight loss. It looks like it's working for Kourt!
13 Kim Shakes It Up
Kim Kardashian recently posted this photo on Instagram showing off her killer body while drinking a meal replacement shake from a company many of the Kardashian sisters have been known to promote over the years. While the picture is definitely an ad, Kim writes that it's been working for her.
"We had a massive Christmas this year and between my Mom's party, Christmas and New Years… I felt like it was impossible to fit in my regular work outs and eating healthy. But this program is giving me a kick in the right direction that I need. These meal replacement shakes are so good and it’s helping me get my tummy back to flat in the new year. The results I’m seeing and feeling are amazing and I’m so excited for the next few weeks."
Still, Allure Magazine asked an expert if these shakes are really the magic cure and she wasn't convinced. "Perhaps there is preliminary research that suggests effectiveness, but not conclusive evidence," she said. “People should rather save their money for fruits and vegetables. It really is that simple." That sounds like solid advice!
12 A Family Of Waist Trainers
You can thank the Kardashian sisters for starting the whole waist training craze that swept over social media! While few people would think to work out while basically wearing a corset, that became the thing to do once Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself wearing one.
Known as a waist trainer, Kim and Kourtney have all posted ads on their social media channels promoting the corset style waist trainers that claim to help a woman lose the dreaded muffin top and attain The KarJenners flawless hourglass figures.
Even Kylie Jenner is reportedly using one.
We are not sure whether or not these waist trainers actually do anything for a woman's body, but they do wonders as shapewear under your clothes.
11 Ever Heard Of Ghee? Kourtney Drinks A Spoonful Of It
For those of you who don't know, ghee is a clarified butter, which is a butter that has been simmered and then strained to remove its water. It's also used a lot in paleo and keto diets, with some people adding it to their morning coffee. Kourtney Kardashian, however, says she drinks a tablespoon of ghee every morning.
The reality star told The New Potato that she was drinking ghee before it was the latest health trend.
"I have been eating it for years because my grandmother made it, not even knowing what it was. Now I drink it every morning; I have one teaspoon. You melt it and you drink it first thing in the morning, and then you can’t eat or drink anything for twenty minutes after. It has to be the first thing in your stomach."
10 They Use Scales As Inspiration
Putting your health and fitness goals out there for everyone to see is a pretty brave move, and one the Kardashian sisters have never shied away from. Kim has openly shared pictures of herself before and after pregnancy on social media. On her Snapchat, most notably, Kim has snapped pics of her feet as she stands on her scale. Kim had no shame in sharing the number to the rest of her fans.
Even Kourtney, who recently admitted during an episode of their reality show that she gained one little roll, going from 97 to 98 pounds, openly discusses her fitness goals.
Posting your number on social media might not be for everyone, but for the Kardashian sisters who live their lives in the spotlight, it seems like it is a way that keeps them accountable and on track in working towards their fitness goals.
9 Water, Water And More Water
If you've ever watched even one episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians you know that the Kardashian sisters are serious about their water. In fact, they're always carrying around supersized bottles of water anywhere and everywhere they go. The Kardashians are never not hydrated!
The famous sisters know the health benefits of drinking lots of water throughout a day and they definitely make sure to get their 8 glasses and more in! It's been reported that Kim Kardashian doesn't even drink alcohol. A source told OK! Magazine:
"She likes a glass of red wine with dinner and coffee in the morning but her Atkins mania won't allow her those anymore. She won't even have a sip.'
This means Kim drinks a lot of water. According to the Daily Mail, Kim always has a "water bottle with her [...] just drinking her water concoctions."
8 Sweating It Out In Her Sauna Suit
Yes, Khloe Kardashian just gave birth but that doesn't mean the bounce back game hasn't started. Khloe has admitted in the past that she wears a sauna suit (as seen in the photo above) while she works out.
"I keep getting asked where I buy these sauna suits from, I get them from any sporting goods store. Basically, they insulate the heat so they make you sweat double time," she explained on her Snapchat
In another post on her website, the reality star sang the praises of the sauna suit once again.
"They supposedly insulate your heat and elevate your body temperature so they double, or triple, the amount you would sweat. If you're doing cardio, it gets rid of excess water."
Even sister Kim is praising her sister's dedication to working out. "Khloe does these workouts with these sauna suits underneath," Kim told PEOPLE. "And she's just...I've never seen someone so focused. I saw her naked two days ago changing and I was like, 'Oh, my God. You are my body icon.' She's never been more on fire."
We have no doubt, then, that Khoe will be back at the gym in no time.
7 Kylie Eats Clean Like Her Sisters
While so many of us think that buying the 'lite' version of a product at the grocery store is the key to a lower calorie and healthier diet, that isn't really the case. The Kardashians stay far away from diet food, instead choosing to opt for fresh fruits and vegetables and proteins for their diet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kylie Jenner didn't waste any time trying to get back to her pre-pregnancy self. She is not only working out with her own army of trainers but has been eating less than 1000 calories a day. Yes, you read right. Kylie seems to be taking after her older sisters because this lip mogul has only clean food on her menu. This means "organic fish and chicken - nothing fried, no carbs."
6 Tea For Everyone!
Another hugely popular product the Kar/Jenner clan is often promoting on their social media pages is a detox tea.
Not only do the KarJenner sisters drink the detox tea, but some swear by it as a way to start their day.
Jenner told E! News that the tea was one of her secrets to getting red carpet ready. She revealed to E! News: "I usually start my day off with a cup of detox tea [...] I have like 12 cups a day."
TWELVE! That's a lot of detox tea. It seems most of the sisters are fans of the product as they've all taken their turns promoting it on their Insta pages. Many fans have also tried the products and posted their own success stories as well.
5 Kourtney Goes Keto
Chances are you've heard of the Keto Diet by now. The high fat, high protein, low carb and low sugar diet is the latest way of eating to become popular among the masses, with many people who are on it showing off huge weight loss accomplishments. Kourtney Kardashian is also singing the praises of the ketogenic diet.
The reality star, who recently admitted on her hit reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians that she weighed just 98 pounds, has credited the keto diet with changing her way of eating. PEOPLE Magazine reports that the reality star posted about her experience with the diet on her app, writing that it was “a really positive experience for me.”
“I would make broccoli rice or cauliflower rice to at least feel like I was eating some carbs,” she writes. “Then I would add protein, so I often ate grilled chicken and fish over broccoli rice, cauliflower rice or spaghetti squash. I mixed in roasted vegetables, fresh salads with homemade dressing, and smoothies made with avocados and bananas.”
4 The Magician (AKA Khloe's Personal Trainer)
We all know that it's so much easier to stay motivated and accountable to working out on a regular basis when you have someone working out with you. The Kardashian sisters have been each other's workout partners for years, sharing their trainers and doing group exercises in their backyard and garage that they've transformed into a gym.
Trainer Don Brooks has long been a staple in the Kardashian family workout routine, as anyone who watches their reality show knows. The trainer works out with the women between 3 and 5 days a week and can definitely be credited with helping them get their killer physiques. However one trainer isn't enough for some of the sisters! As we said above, Kim enlisted the help of her very own trainer, Melissa Alcantara and Khloe has credited fitness trainer to the stars, Gunnar Peterson with helping her to get her 'Revenge Body.'
Hollywood Life even reported that Kylie Jenner is seeking help from sister Khloe Kardashian's personal trainer to help her bounce back after having daughter Stormi.
That's what sisters are for, right?
3 Their Salad Game Is Strong
Regular viewers of KUWTK are no doubt familiar with those giant salad bowls the Kardashian sisters are always eating that come from Health Nut, a store in their town of Calabasas, California.
The sisters are always munching on their salads, and Kim even wrote an entire post on her website about each of their favourite ones.
Kim wrote that her fave was the Chinese Chicken Salad with a mango green-tini to drink, while Khloe favors the Chinese Chicken Salad and adds avocado. Kim writes that Kourtney's go to salad is the Chef Salad with no cheese, no tomatoes and no sprouts and she adds avocado.
The women love their salads so much even the kids eat them as well, and there's rarely an episode seen without one of those tell tale plastic salad bowls featured in the background!
2 Kim Goes Live On Social Media
Fans of KUWTK know that Kim recently decided to get series about her health and fitness. So serious that she found a trainer on social media and reached out to hire her. Melissa Alcantara has a serious body, and after seeing her Instagram posts Kim decided she was just the person she needed to whip her in to shape!
"I'm going to start a really crazy diet. I was looking on Instagram and this body builder popped up on my page and she had gained 70 pounds in her pregnancy. Her kid's like 6 now. She is like ripped," Kim told her mom during an episode of their reality show. "Melissa is a trainer I found. She's super inspiring to me and I really want to meet up with her and she if she could train me. She could help direct my food and really get me on an amazing path…If I was 10 percent like her it would be life-changing. Like my whole arms and back. It's mostly food. I gotta have this lifestyle. I gotta try," Kim said.
It looks like Melissa is definitely doing some amazing things for Kim because she is looking seriously fit lately.
1 Kim Gives Up Carbs
While Kourtney may be the health nut of the family, and Khloe credits her revenge body with a full lifestyle change, Kim Kardashian has always been the sister to embrace current diet trends when she wants to lose weight.
After giving birth to son Saint in December, 2015 the reality star used the Atkins diet to shed the baby weight, realizing she needed to change her way of eating to lose the weight.
“I think dieting is so important to weight loss, whereas, I didn’t really ever think that before,” Kardashian told PEOPLE. “I thought, ‘Oh, I can work out, I can just eat whatever I want.’ But you have to work out all the time.”
Kim loves the Atkins diet so much she became a brand ambassador for the high protein diet, crediting it with helping her lose almost 70 pounds after Saint was born.
