Celebrities live a life full of glitz and glam, or at least that's what many of us might think. All the picture perfect Instagram posts can be deceiving. Between the red carpet events, most celebs get down and dirty with reality just like the rest of us. Especially the celeb parents! They don't all hire nannies and ditch the kids like stigmas might suggest. Many celebrity moms have a daily routine with their kids just like the rest of us. They see the good, the bad and the ugly on a daily basis. Amanda Peet told Good Housekeeping, “One surprise of motherhood for me was how little control I have. It's been bittersweet and humbling.”

Not having control of our kids outbursts, accidents and everything in between is a disadvantage. It would be so much more convenient if they could give us a heads up before the next breakdown so we can be prepared. Since that's a totally unreasonable request, we better always be prepared.

It's embarrassing and stressful when our kids are acting out. When we see celebs dealing with a sticky situation it helps us feel better about our own daily dose of reality. We can stop dreaming about living the life of a celebrity and realize that we're living the same life - sort of. Parenting life will bring on a lot of the same circumstances for celebs and the average Jane. We are united and everyone can agree that parenting isn't all glamorous for anyone - Not even celebs!

15 Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff is no stranger to the paparazzi. We have seen some of Duff and Baby Luca’s meltdowns from the time he was a newborn, and we can see his strong personality shining through during his toddler years. Star magazine gave out letter grades to celeb moms. In 2015, Hilary Duff, a twenty-seven year old single mom, and her son Luca (3) got a C+ rating. The reason being that children need discipline and boundaries.

A source on the inside said, “Hilary refuses to discipline her kid, and that's why he is always screaming. She can't be bothered to say no to him, and he has learned that if he just throws a huge tantrum he can have whatever he wants. She just thinks it's funny.”

Raising a strong willed little boy is challenging. They definitely need discipline, but even with a strict parent or parents, the meltdowns are going to happen. All the money, fame, glamour or attention in the world isn't going to completely stop a little boy from having a tantrum.

14 Leah Messer

The Teen Mom 2 star, Leah Messer, has a full plate, and it's usually full of drama. With two ex husbands, three children and a child with a disability, Messer has had a hard time keeping it together. The feeling of falling apart is a feeling that a lot of parents can relate to. The important thing is that we always find the pieces to put ourselves back together again.

According to a Pew Research Center analysis of recently released American Community Survey (ACS) and Decennial Census data, fewer than half (46%) of children are living in a “traditional” home with both parents. This means that many of us can relate to the added struggles Messer has.

“I just feel stressed out now,” Leah says to a friend. “I forgot today’s the first day they’ve been back. Maybe it’s the transition from his house to my house. Ali does good, it’s more Gracie.”

Messer is seen shouting at her daughter in an episode of Teen Mom 2. When Gracie can't seem to calm down or behave, Messer takes her into another room for a spanking.

13 Charlize Theron

We can all respect Charlize Theron for being determined not to let her children become spoiled Hollywood brats. They might grow up in a luxurious environment, but that doesn't mean Theron is going to be easy on them. During an outing with the kids, Theron’s son Jackson starts throwing a tantrum. The fierce warrior from Mad Max: Fury Road kept her cool and did her best to get her son in the car.

An eyewitness saw Jackson hit another kid at the park. That kind of behavior isn't going to fly with Theron. She handled it with a nice balance of being strict but kind. The eyewitness told star magazine, “Charlize immediately removed him from the park and took him home. She kept telling him how bad hitting was and that it's not okay under any circumstances. She was tough!"

Even a parent with an A on the grading scale has to deal with outbursts from their kids. It's part of the deal when we become parents, and no one is exempt.

12 Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore deals with her kids tantrums in the best way. The popular Disney tantrum photos are being shared all over the internet and people are praising Barrymore for her parenting techniques. Her two young daughters love all things Disney and that including visiting both Disney World and Disneyland. It's no wonder Barrymore is a pro because she has spent a lot of time visiting large theme parks. Anyone who has taken small children to Disney will know it has the possibility of turning from a dream land into a total nightmare in a matter of seconds.

On the Late Night with Seth Meyers show, Barrymore told Meyers, “It all ends at some point in mayhem.”

Tantrum trigger: Barrymore’s four year old daughter Olivia wanted to chase a bird and was told no. Barrymore says, "[Children's tantrums] come at the most interesting times. You cannot predict It. I think you should have 10 consistent tools in your arsenal. It's either the tender loving approach or the 'I'm very serious' approach."

11 Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is doing everything in her power to make sure her daughter, North, develops a high end sense of fashion and glam. Some have praised Kardashian for remaining calm during a tantrum at New York Fashion Week. Others question why North was sitting front row in the first place. One source says, “Kim treats North more like an accessory than a daughter. She dresses her in high-end designer outfits and drags her to fashion shows every hour of the day. North can't sit quietly for more than three minutes, so she throws tantrums causing huge disruptions."

You can dress in the most glamorous clothes and sit front row at the most glamorous events, but that doesn't mean parenting is going to be glamorous. North probably would have been happier playing outside getting her clothes dirty and not wearing any shoes. Kardashian had to leave the front row show of Kanye's debut with Adidas.

10 Brooke Shields

She sat staring out the window of her fourth floor Manhattan apartment, and completed ending it all. From the outside looking in, Brooke Shields has it all. Beauty, fame, family, money and a healthy child that she wanted so badly. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, postpartum depression may affect as many as one in ten women within six months of delivery.

No one is immune to the experience of postpartum depression, not even the rich and famous. Shields opened up about her experience with the hope of helping other mothers who are going through it. Shields was unaware that she had postpartum depression, and when it was discovered it was devastating to her whole family. Shields struggled to conceive. When she finally did she had a healthy perfect baby, but Shields was almost destroyed. She's says, “I couldn't hold the baby, I couldn't do anything for the baby, I couldn't look at the baby.”

9 Sandra Bullock

In 2015, the Blindside star opened up for the first time about fostering and adopting her 3 ½ year old daughter, Laila. Bullock opened up to PEOPLE and explained the first few stages of bringing Laila home required plenty of patience and reassurance. She said, “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”

Bullock hopes to shine a light on the 415,129 children currently in foster care in the United States. Hopefully, her story will inspire those who are on the fence about adoption to take a leap of faith, and take in a child who needs of a family.

8 Peaches Geldof

British socialite, Peaches Geldof, dropped her baby, but not her cell phone. In 2012, the twenty-three year old mother took her five month old baby, Astala, for a walk. The pram (stroller) hit an uneven stretch of pavement and tipped over. That's something that could happen to anyone. Geldof took to twitter to defend herself and her parenting skills in a series of tweets. She claims there was a giant hole in the pavement that she didn't see “as was pushing the pram” and thankfully Astala didn't fall out “as was strapped in.” There was no mention of a cell phone and the pictures (or Geldof) must be deceiving because it looks as though the baby fell out the side of the stroller.

The young mother blames the streets of London for being “SO dangerous” and goes on to tell the mayor of London he should do something about it because it's ridiculous. The lesson here is that we can be glamourous, act glamorous and look glamorous, but glamour can fall in a hole at any moment.

7 Tori Spelling

On the reality show True Tori, Tori Spelling admits that she was scared to have a daughter. Spelling and her mom, Candy, have a long history of issues that are still unresolved today. A lot of people can relate to Spelling and have “mommy issues” of their own. Sometimes, those issues can trickle over to the next generation of mom and daughter. It usually goes one of two ways - the new mom doesn't want the same relationship she had with her mother, or the same issues never go away generation after generation.

Spelling’s therapy session with Dr. Wexler was aired on her reality show. She admits that she gives her daughters extra hugs everyday to ensure they feel loved, because she never did. Its obvious that Spelling will always be unhappy with her underlying mommy issues, but we should condone her for trying to break the cycle. Parenting problems are very real in many seemingly glamours lives.

6 Halle Berry

Halle Berry and her daughter, Nahla, are out shopping for groceries. We're not sure if Nahla is upset at the paparazzi following her, or maybe she is fed up with the shopping. Either way, all parents can relate to the dreaded grocery store meltdowns. It's a rite of passage for a kid to throw a fit in the grocery store at least once in their lifetime. Celeb kids are no exception. It looks like Berry is handling the situation well as she bites her lips and keeps moving. Kids have got to eat, so mom has to shop.

When the grocery store tantrum happens, and you can't walk out without your stuff, channel your inner Dori. Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming. The trip will be over before you know it. If you're lucky, the other customers will let you skip line so you can get the screaming kid out the door faster.

5 Kourtney Kardashian

Disneyland is the happiest place on earth - or maybe not! Kourtney Kardashian planned Penelope’s birthday party at Disneyland on July 8, 2015. They were dressed to impress as Tinkerbell twins. That wasn't enough to keep the three year old happy. The tabloids suggested she missed her absent father, Scott Disick. We believe that it was just a weak moment after a long day. The Disney tantrums happen more often than one would think. The hot sun, long lines, extensive walking and waiting can break a kid (and an adult) by the end of the day. Kardashian is looking rather exhausted herself.

Don't let the one mad moment fool you. Kardashian shared plenty of happy, smiling family pics on instagram. The moral of this story is that every parent will experience the happy and unhappy moments. Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and North all joined in for the birthday celebration at Disneyland.

4 Anna Faris

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were able to see the humor in the mess of potty training. Taking the kids out of the house in the early stages of potty training can be scary. We never know when or where it's going to happen. Even celeb kids have accidents outside the house. Except this time the not so perfect moment wasn't caught by paparazzi, but Faris herself took to twitter with a photo. Faris wasn't phased or stressed out by her sons minor mishap. She realizes that these less than glamorous moments are going to happen to every parent.

What's just as funny as Faris’ tweet was Pratt’s reply. He tweeted, “Those are swim shorts. Put him in the pool and that's perfectly acceptable behavior. I'm proud of you both.”

It's nice to see celebrities lighten the mood and make other parents feel better about the mess of potty training.

3 Britney Spears

Britney Spears parenting skills have been under public scrutiny since day one. In 2006, Spears walked out of a Manhattan hotel holding her eight-month old Sean Preston in one hand and a glass in the other. There were crowds of people around her, cameras flashing and everyone yelling “Britney!” She had to be redirected to the car twice and she stumbled as she found her way to the car. Luckily, a body guard right behind her helped her catch her balance, and hold onto Sean, but his head flung backwards knocking his hat off. We could see her open backed white shirt, black bra and pink underpants as she quickly got in the car.

Falling while holding our small children is a fear many mothers have. It's possible to happen to anyone. Especially when there are crowds of people and cameras flashing in your face. Spears added fuel to the fire after this mishap, which eventually led to one of the biggest celebrity meltdowns of all time in 2007. Spears made a big comeback in 2016 and seems to be doing great in her career and as a mother, but it wasn't always glamorous.

2 Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin has received more than her fair share of criticism as a mother. Some even call her the “worst celebrity mother.” As a mother of eight, she definitely has experienced plenty meltdowns and tantrums. Gosselin received a lot of backlash when In Touch Weekly published pictures of her spanking her daughter in front of their Pennsylvania home. According to the magazine Gosselin’s daughter, Leah, was blowing a whistle loudly while Gosselin was on the phone. Leah was asked to stop, but then blew the whistle again. That's when Gosselin grabbed her daughter by the arm, spanked her and walked away.

We've all been in this situation as parents, right? It is definitely frustrating when our kids deliberately disobey us! We know Leah isn't the only kid who has been spanked for not listening. Spanking is a touchy subject now, but what isn't? Gosselin told Life & Style that her method of punishment is her choice. She said, “Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first.”

1 Kate Middleton

Celebrity parents are not exempt from the meltdowns and messes caused by kids, and neither are the royals. Last year the two year old Prince George joined his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF fairford. The young Prince George was good for most of the day. He performed his royal duties which included waving to the crowd and riding in an aircraft. Eventually, he was ready to be done for the day and started crying.

Like any mom, Middleton was there to pick him up and wipe his tears. Prince George stopped crying and went back to his happy adorable self when Prince William walked him around to explore.

Parenting might not be glamorous for anyone, but it is rewarding for everyone! Every parent out there has received the most precious gift one could ever receive. With that gift comes chaos, messes and meltdowns. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves that the good times outweigh the bad times no matter what.
