Sadly we live in a world where body shaming exists, and it happens all too often. It even happens to pregnant women. It is particularly bad for those moms to be who live their lives in the spotlight because the media is harsh. Maybe people think that the fame will somehow take the edge off of the hurtful words that are tossed around when certain celebrities are pregnant. Here is a fun fact: no two pregnant bellies look the same. Who are we to judge what a 'normal' or 'healthy' baby bump looks like?

No one really knows or sees what is going on inside a woman's uterus while she is pregnant just by looking at a picture of her belly. That still doesn't stop tons of people from shaming moms to be and even accusing them of somehow harming their babies or putting their health at risk. Let's just set the record straight- that is an awful accusation. We already are hyper-aware of what we are doing pregnancy and body wise; none of us need the peanut gallery butting in on how they think a 'healthy' pregnant mom should look. We can all stop playing Dr. Facebook and leave it to the experts and actual doctors to let a woman know if there is something she should be concerned about. It is not a one size fits all situation.

15 Kate Middleton's Baby Bump Was 'Too Small'

Due to her responsibilities and severe morning sickness, Kate Middleton announced her third pregnancy pretty early. We are used to those in the public eye announcing basically when they cannot hide the growing bump anymore so many people were confused and pretty rude that Middleton didn't have a belly. There is no hard and fast rule about when a woman has to announce her pregnancy just like there is no hard and fast rule about when her bump will start to show.

She announced her third pregnancy back in September, and people immediately jumped to criticize that her stomach was not big enough. This was, of course, followed by the hurtful accusations that the Duchess was starving herself and her unborn baby. The term 'eating disorder' was flung around as well which is something that no one needs to be publicly accused of, especially while pregnant.

14 Tammy Hembrow Didn't 'Look Pregnant' Enough

Tammy Hembrow is an Australian model, fitness trainer, and author who got a crazy amount of body shame for her baby bump and even her postpartum body as well. Because of Hembrow's intense fitness regimen, her belly didn't look like what most pregnant women are expected to look like. Apparently, when most people think pregnancy, they focus on the weight gain and giant belly. We just haven't adapted to fit moms yet and that each bump might be different.

When the new mom of two talked about swelling and puffiness, many were quick to shut her down in her Instagram comments because they didn't see what she did. When someone has Tammy's general shape, they are quicker and more observant of the changes their body goes through while the outside world is critical. It certainly isn't fair to tell a woman she doesn't know what she looks like or feels like because of what we are used to seeing on others.

13 Sarah Stage - Food Baby Or Real Baby?

Sarah Stage is another mom who got slammed for her unusual looking baby bump. Shamers were quick to throw around malnutrition and eating disorder accusations about the mom to be during her second pregnancy because her weight gain didn't look as significant as people thought it should. Her stomach was on the smaller side for sure at 9 months pregnant. That had tons of trolls comparing their food baby to her actual baby.

Many people also slammed the expectant mother for exercising during her pregnancy. The usual accusations of somehow putting her baby at risk by taking care of her health were tossed out there too. Clearly, these people are not fitness fans who have learned that exercise can actually be beneficial to both mom and baby! Most people were shocked that Stage still had abs surrounding her baby belly.

12 Elsa Pataky Was Called 'Huge' On The Red Carpet

Elsa Pataky may not be a name that rings a ton of bells, but surely everyone has heard of her husband, Chris Hemsworth. Back in 2014 while Pataky was pregnant, there were tons of people, including Joan Rivers and George Kotsiopoulos, who remarked just how "huge" the expectant mother was. Isn't that just what every expectant woman wants to hear? No, and if we cannot comment that someone has put a serious amount of weight not pregnant, we do not need to hear all about our weight gain even while we are pregnant.

Obviously, criticism comes with living in the public eye, but pregnant moms should surely be off limits. There were even people who went as far to compare Pataky's baby bump to a large beer belly. Maybe people missed the memo that Pataky was pregnant with twins, but they still should have been a little more tasteful and respectful about a pregnant mom when publicly shaming her baby bump.

11 Kim Kardashian Was Compared To A Whale

Kim Kardashian West received a boatload of hate during both of her pregnancies with North and Saint. People even went as far to call the expectant mother a whale. Ouch. The reality star walked the red carpet at the Met Gala back in 2013 when the nasty whale remarks were made. It surely set the tone for the amount of body hate she would receive the rest of her first pregnancy along with her second pregnancy as well.

The reality star has spoken about how the body shaming during her pregnancies impacted her, and we cannot blame her. People were quick to note the reality star's weight gain and make guesses at what number the scale was hitting. There seems to be no way to win because women are also shamed if the public does not think they are gaining enough weight which was also something that Kim experienced during her second pregnancy with Saint.

10 Audrey Roloff Showed 'Too Much Skin'

Audrey Roloff from the reality show, Little People, Big World, showed her bare third-trimester belly off for Instagram and was quickly slammed for doing so. The mom to be was asking her followers if her bump would get any lower. It's not an uncommon thing for many first time moms to question things about their pregnancy via social media. Most of us just do not have the following that Roloff has from the family's reality show.

Roloff was slammed for her belly and the fact that she was showing it off. Apparently, it is a new thing to showcase our bare bellies to the world and many more old-fashioned fans were not happy about the amount of skin the expectant mother was showing. It was peanuts compared to what most reality stars show off via social media.

9 Blac Chyna's Belly Got The Internet Talking

When Blac Chyna was pregnant with her daughter, Dream Kardashian, she set a goal to gain 100 pounds during her pregnancy. That received a lot of raised eyebrows and criticism. For a woman of a healthy, average weight a gain of 25 to 35 pounds is recommended during pregnancy. The maximum suggestion is still under 50 pounds (half of the reality star's goal) for an underweight woman.

The couple shared much of Chyna's pregnancy on their reality show Rob and Chyna back in 2016 showing the world plenty. Chyna quickly received a decent amount of hate for the amount of weight she was gaining and planning to gain while pregnant, but she was quick to respond that she wanted to enjoy her pregnancy. Her large belly would be the talk of the internet and the town for months to come as she went through a nasty break up with Rob Kardashian shortly after Dream's birth.

8 Tess Holiday Was Targeted By Trolls

Tess Holiday is a plus size model so she receives quite the body commentary on a regular basis, and it surely escalated when she became pregnant. One of the biggest criticisms Holiday received was that there was no way she could have a healthy pregnancy due to her weight. Isn't it ironic how fit moms got the same exact criticism for being "too skinny?"

Holiday does not hold back from shutting down shamers or continuing to enjoy and show off her pregnancy. Good for her! The plus-size model shared her pregnancy moments via Instagram and showed everyone, including haters, that plus size women can have a healthy and pregnancy just like anyone else. While it may have made her an easy target for trolls, it definitely was reassuring to other moms who may have similar concerns.

7 Leah Remini's Body Was Called Out By Haters

Leah Remini known best from King of Queens was probably one of the first celebrity moms to get a ton of hate in the media during her pregnancy back in 2004. The actress gained about 80 pounds during her pregnancy, and she was bashed for every single pound. Remini received a lot of hate from media tabloids who said the actress was simply getting fat.

Well, the actress's belly certainly got bigger, it appears she dealt with some weight gain and swelling all over which is likely what led to the haters. Remini called out the people who were buying tabloids because they were ultimately the reason so many heinous and hurtful headlines were run. People were much more focused on her actual weight gain than her pregnancy or her postpartum weight loss.

6 Hayden Panettiere - 'Too Big And Too Pregnant'

Hayden Panettiere was one mom to be who was frequently described as "huge." Even when a woman is pregnant, that is not a word she wants to be called. It's not flattering to anyone. With her first pregnancy back in 2014, people talked a great deal about the actress's size. It happened again when she gained 40 pounds during her second pregnancy.

Panettiere is not normally a big girl by any means so when pregnant, like most petite women, her belly really sticks out. Where else is that baby supposed to go? The actress stands at just 5 feet 2 inches tall so there is not a lot of space for baby to go. Her bump really protruded and obviously, the extra weight didn't help with that. People were quick to jump on the actress for looking too big and too pregnant.

5 Coco Austin Was Accused Of Using A Surrogate

Coco Austin was one mom who experienced a great deal of body shaming while pregnant with her daughter Chanel. Living in the public eye definitely puts a great deal of pressure on an expectant mother, and when she does not look like the usual mom to be people can get mean. Austin was one of those women who didn't really show until late in her pregnancy.

People even went as far to say that Austin was not actually carrying her baby and had used a surrogate instead. As Austin only gained 13 pounds during her pregnancy, the hate eventually got to the expectant mother. Her doctor reassured her that people with athletic backgrounds often gain weight differently and show differently than usual. It probably didn't help Austin deal with the constant haters, but at least it was some reassurance that she and her baby were healthy.

4 Khloe Kardashian Is Shamed For Working Out

Khloe Kardashian finally announced her pregnancy, and it took lightening speed for body shamers to slam the mom to be for her bump and the fact that she was still working out. We all know the reality star is a fitness fanatic so did people really expect that she would give that up just because she was pregnant?

People quickly shamed Kardashian for working out during her pregnancy and how it impacted her bump. On the flip side, she also received hate for gaining too quickly because after all, she was the 'fat sister' at one point. The Good American co-founder was quick to respond to haters that exercising while pregnant is perfectly healthy. She laughed off her previous fat jokes and posted that it was preventing her stomach from getting additional stretch marks.

3 Kate Hudson Put On 'Too Many Pounds'

When Kate Hudson was pregnant with her eldest child, Ryder, she had gained 70 pounds by the time she had him. The actress gained a great deal of weight with her pregnancy and received a great deal of hate with that as well. Back in 2003, Hudson's pregnancy was luckily before the days of social media trolls. That did not stop the media, friends, and even family from commenting on the star's serious weight gain.

Hudson had pregnancy cravings that were irresistible. The lack of control was likely a factor in her significant weight gain, but few people were sympathetic. It didn't help that she gained 70 pounds during her second pregnancy seven years later as well and looked just as huge. The fitness brand, Fabletics, has become a warning of sorts to expectant mothers to have some self-control when it comes to cravings.

2 Chrissy Teigen Is 'Showing Too Quickly'

Chrissy Teigen is expecting her second child with husband, John Legend. Apparently, the model was showing 'too quickly' which had people speculating and criticizing of course. Luna was only 19 months old when the couple announced that they were pregnant with their second child so maybe people need to be reminded that a woman's uterus already knows what to do once she's been pregnant. Many moms show more quickly in subsequent pregnancies. Teigen is no exception to that rule.

By the time Teigen announced her pregnancy publicly, she was already beginning to show. People were quick to jump on that. They accused the model of gaining too much weight, carrying twins, and lying about how far along she was. Real classy! There is really no winning this battle because many stars also getting shamed for not showing enough. We are sure the clap back queen will be able to handle anybody hate that is thrown her way.

1 Beyonce's Baby Bump Is Called Fake

During Beyonce's first pregnancy with daughter, Blue Ivy, she raised a ton of eyebrows when people speculated that her bump was fake. Many thought that either the pregnancy was fake altogether or that the couple had actually hired a surrogate. During an interview, it appeared that Beyonce's baby bump folded.

The insane accusations that folded around involved Beyonce being too focused on not gaining weight or hiding the fact that she hired a surrogate. The hate began to fly with people ridiculing the artist for the appearance of her bump. It also started a whole flood of conspiracy theories and speculations regarding whether or not she was actually pregnant.

Maybe some of these haters should actually have to experience pregnancy before commenting. Bumps shift, tilt, and even wiggle as baby grows and moves around inside of us. It's pretty insane that she was actually accused of being fake pregnant because of one image.
