We all have that one relative, friend, or coworker who can’t help being just a little nosy and asking when we’re going to have a baby. Celebrities have it a thousand times worse. Constantly in the spotlight, continuously critiqued and scrutinized, celeb pregnancy rumors are always making headlines.
And we can’t help it. We love to know what our favorite actresses, musicians, and models are doing. As much as we love the juicy, dirty gossip about our favorite celebrity feuds and who’s cheating on who… we’re also hooked on stories about happy couples getting married and expanding their families. The Internet was turned upside down when Beyonce announced that she was pregnant with twins. People love to see what all the Kardashian kids are up to. We love to hear Chrissy Teigen’s refreshingly honest take on motherhood.
An ill-timed photo or the rare bad picture of a female celebrity can send paparazzi and reporters into full detective mode. If a female celebrity has a big lunch and is sporting a slightly rounded belly, she could be pregnant. If she wears baggy clothes, she’s probably trying to conceal a baby bump. If she comments that she’d love to have a baby someday, she could already be expecting. Drinking water and not booze? Pregnant. Canceled a concert? Pregnant. Just started dating someone new? Pregnant!
In reality, we can never know the truth until the alleged mama-to-be confirms it herself. Here are some of our favorite female celebrities who are currently NOT pregnant, as far as we know…
Jennifer Garner has battled pregnancy rumors more than once. In addition, she’s also been under scrutiny by the media numerous times for her “baby bump.” She put those rumors to rest years ago on The Ellen Degeneres Show when she acknowledged her bump. “From now on, ladies, I will have a bump, and it will be my baby bump. It’s not going anywhere,” she said. “Its name is Violet, Sam and Sera.”
Garner has three kids with actor Ben Affleck. Violet was born in 2005, Seraphina was born in 2009, and Sam was born in 2012. Garner and Affleck announced their separation in June 2015, but have remained close as they co-parent their kids. So close, in fact, that Ben Affleck has been living in the guest house of their property. Their close relationship has caused the media to wonder if the couple would patch things up, and pregnancy rumors popped up again thanks to a picture of Garner wearing a billowy shirt over a slightly rounded tummy. The couple is currently moving forward with their divorce.
14Jenna Dewan Tatum
In December 2015, Channing Tatum’s wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, posed for an adorable Instagram photo with the couple’s daughter, Everly. The mother and daughter were both lying on the floor wearing shimmery purple mermaid tails, and the caption of the picture read “Happening!”
Fans of the couple scrutinized Jenna’s body in the picture, deciding that it looked like she was showing off a baby bump, and guessed that what was “Happening!” was another baby for the gorgeous couple. But Jenna denied the rumors.
What was REALLY happening in the photo was a reference to one of Channing Tatum’s upcoming projects – a role-reversal remake of the 80s flick Splash starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah. Channing will take on Hannah’s role as the mermaid (hence the mermaid tails in the photo!) while actress Jillian Bell will play Tom Hanks’ part. Ron Howard, who directed the original film, is also going to be working on the gender-swapping remake.
Two kids are enough for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. The couple has two little girls, Lincoln and Delta, ages 4 and 2, respectively. Despite already having kids, celebrity couples are always questioned about the possibility of adding to their brood. In fact, just weeks after their youngest daughter, Delta, was born in 2014, Bell appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show and was asked if the couple had plans to have a third baby. The actress was quick to respond that they were done having children, joking that they don’t want to be outnumbered.
Speaking of feeling outnumbered, Shepard must feel a little outnumbered by all the women in the house. After Bell had a pregnancy scare last year, Shepard had a vasectomy. Shepard said in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that she wasn’t really thrilled that he went and had the vasectomy, but maybe that will help squash any future pregnancy rumors for awhile.
The Kardashians are pretty famous for… being famous. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West already have two kids, North and Saint, and rumors recently began swirling that a third Kardashian kid was on the way.
Kim and Kanye recently launched a children’s clothing line, and Kim’s retweet of a fan’s message made people wonder if she was pregnant. The tweet read “[Retweet] if you’re getting pregnant in time for Kim and Kanye [West’s] kids line launch.” Kim not only retweeted the message, but she also added several baby emojis and the girl raising her hand emoji!
News of a third Kardashian West baby wouldn’t be a huge surprise, considering that Kim has mentioned that Kanye would like to have more kids. But after a difficult pregnancy with North and trouble conceiving Saint, the reality star might be a little hesitant. The rumor mill is still busy churning, though; pictures of Kim wearing uncharacteristic baggy clothes have left fans wondering if she’s trying to hide something.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom tried to have children, and Khloe even visited fertility specialists on their reality show, but the couple never had kids. Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013, but the divorce wasn’t finalized until December 2016, well after Odom’s scandalous drug overdose at a Las Vegas brothel.
Kardashian started dating Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thomas in the late half of 2016, and since the older Kardashian sisters already have five kids between them, fans have just been waiting for Khloe to announce that she’s got a bun in the oven.
The 32-year-old shut down hurtful pregnancy rumors earlier this year sharing a bunch of Snapchat videos of herself swirling and sipping a large glass of red wine at dinner. Friends of Kardashian have said that she’s just having fun, and doesn’t want any drama right now. Those baby rumors came at a lousy time; shortly before the baby talk surfaced, Thomas welcomed a son with his ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig.
This is how rumors get started. At the 2017 SAG Awards, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend spoke to E! News reporter Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet. When asked about having more kids, Teigen responded with “Oh my God, a little boy is next for sure!” and, BAM, fans were convinced that the model was already pregnant again.
Teigen quickly took to Twitter to set things straight. When she got pregnant with the adorable baby Luna in 2015, they used a female embryo. They have another embryo saved, and that one is a boy. So, even though she’s not pregnant yet, she is already able to confirm the gender of their next child.
Teigen and John have been very open about their fertility struggles and their decision to use IVF. Despite their difficulties, the couple has admitted that they’d like to make Luna a big sister in the future. Don’t know when it’ll happen, but we can bet he’ll be a gorgeous little boy!
Jessica Alba has faced rumors that she and her husband, Cash Warren, are going to be parents for the third time – for years. Gossip magazines have made claims that the actress and mompreneur is pregnant with baby number three and couldn’t be happier… but her reps have denied the claims, saying that she’s not pregnant.
Alba would definitely have her hands full, trying to balance her kids, her acting career, and her company. The actress once spent 80 hours a week working on the set of the sci-fi TV show, Dark Angel, the series that kicked off her career. Now she spends those 80 hours a week overseeing marketing and product development for The Honest Company, a brand that feeds the need for safe, nontoxic family products. In its first year selling products, The Honest Company made $10 million in revenue. In 2015, the company boasted a $1 billion valuation. Whoa, baby!
One of the hottest celebrity couples right now is Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The Voice pair is absolutely adorable and rumors have been swirling that the couple has been planning their wedding, but now, supposedly, those plans are on hold so that they can try for a baby first!
Some pictures on Stefani’s Instagram from back in March has fans believing that the Hollaback Girl might already have a bun in the oven. The singer posed with Ellen Degeneres and Heidi Klum at the Kids Choice Awards and the photos received lots of comments about whether or not Gwen was sporting a baby bump. The singer was wearing a fitting top and skirt, so it’s hard to tell if it’s a belly bump, or just the way the items fit. But there people go, immediately jumping to the conclusion that she’s pregnant! A pregnancy has yet to be confirmed. Stefani already has three kids with Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale; 10-year-old Kingston, eight-year-old Zuma, and three-year-old Apollo.
Gisele Bundchen and New England Patriots superstar Tom Brady already have two kids together; Benjamin, 7, and Vivian, 4. Pictures from a photo shoot in Brazil back in December have fans wondering if she was pregnant. The supermodel was wearing a tight fitting turquoise dress and seemed to be sporting a small bump. Is it baby #3 or did she just have a big lunch?
Gossip magazines had a field day, saying that with the NFL season coming to a close, that the timing would be great for the couple to have another baby. Magazines said that Gisele loves being a mom and that the couple has always talked about having a big family.
However, based on her recent Earth Day post on Instagram, we’re guessing she just had a food baby – not an actual baby – on board. In her Instagram post from April 22, she’s wearing an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weenie little blue bikini… and there’s definitely no bump in sight!
According to tabloids, Rihanna has been pregnant with Drake’s baby… and awhile back, she was even rumored to be carrying Leonardo DiCaprio’s kid. While fans swooned when Drake announced his love for Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, she’s not pregnant with his baby, and the couple doesn’t seem to be together anymore. Rumors have connected Drake to JLo (and JLo to A-Rod) and even Sade!
Back in February, when Beyonce broke the Internet with her announcement that she was pregnant with twins, thousands of fans and celebrity friends posted messages of congratulations and best wishes, Rihanna included. A fan took Rihanna’s post as an opportunity to ask if she would be sharing baby news anytime soon. Rihanna supposedly “liked” the comment on Instagram and fans freaked out – thinking that a response from Rihanna was confirmation of a pregnancy. Nope. Rihanna was quick to shut down rumors by saying that she liked the comment on accident, and that people needed to leave her “<kitten emoji>” alone!
If you thought the rumors and stories about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were crazy, they’re nothing compared to the rumor mill that’s the relationship between Gomez and singer The Weeknd. The couple hasn’t been together for very long, but they’ve been spotted traveling together and magazine headlines already have them engaged and planning a summer wedding, the details of which will depend on how far along she is in her pregnancy.
Magazines have made claims that the singer has been having cravings, fighting nausea, gaining weight, feeling tired, and that she has already picked out baby names. There’s been no confirmation that any of these are true.
The one thing that we do know for sure IS true is that Beyonce’s twins pregnancy announcement finally took the title of “Most Liked Instagram Picture” away from a picture of Selena sipping from a Coke bottle with her song lyrics on it.
Another woman with ties to Justin Bieber is Hailey Baldwin, the model and daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin. Baldwin and the Biebs have had a bit of a past; they’ve been friends and have spent a lot of time together. But… she’s not pregnant with Bieber’s baby.
How did these rumors get started? Hailey Baldwin and Jordan Barrett did a photo shoot and an interview for GQ magazine. During the interview, they were both asked what their plans were for 2017. The interview used the models’ initials to designate their responses, so Hailey, or “HB” responded jokingly, “We’re having a child together.”
Jordan, or “JB” laughed and added that the couple was having a boy.
JB... You know… kinda like Justin Bieber?
To make things even more confusing… there have been rumors that Bieber has been involved with another model, whose name is Emily Baldwin. Same last name, but no relation whatsoever to Hailey Baldwin.
Kristin Cavallari, the former star of Laguna Beach, and The Hills, and the wife to NFL free agent quarterback Jay Cutler, got caught up in pregnancy rumors by making the most unsuspecting of moves – she was holding her stomach while posing for a picture on Instagram in March.
In case you didn’t know, a woman can touch her belly and NOT be pregnant. But fans saw her holding her stomach and began to wonder… And even Cavallari, who’s already a mom of three, said in the caption of the photo, “Not sure why it looks like I’m holding a pregnant belly.”
But she wasn’t, and she’s not pregnant… A gust of wind threatened to blow up the hem of her romper, and she tried to hold it down with one hand, while holding up her bicycle with the other. This isn’t the first time one of her Instagram photos has started rumors. In December, she was wearing an oversized chunky-knit sweater, so fans questioned if she was hiding a baby bump underneath.
Cavallari squashed all those rumors by posing for another Instagram photo in her bikini. Nope, no baby bump there!
Here we go again… Be careful touching your stomach, or people will automatically assume that you are pregnant.
The award-winning songstress often shares candid behind the scenes tour photos with her millions of fans and social media followers. In March, she posted a picture on Instagram that showed her rehearsing before a show. In the black and white shot, she’s clearly belting out a song in a bathroom; her eyes are closed, one hand is raised in the air, and the other one… is resting on her belly.
The photo was quick to receive comments and questions about whether or not the singer was pregnant, or was hinting that she’s expecting.
Adele is very private about her personal life; after slipping and thanking “her husband” at the Grammy Awards, she recently announced that she and her husband, Simon Konecki, had secretly gotten married around the holidays. The couple has a son together; four-year-old Angelo.
Instagram is the source of tons of baby rumors. Fans suspect that singer Bruno Mars’ longtime girlfriend, Jessica Caban may be pregnant. There haven’t been any official confirmations or denials, so people are looking to social media for evidence.
Exhibit A: An Instagram photo of Caban at SXSW. Caban is wearing a short, flowy dress with an empire waistline, and followers have commented that she looks pregnant. Other fans are justifiably coming to her defense saying that she looks great, and that maybe people should find something better to do than pick apart some woman’s body.
Exhibit B: Gossip websites have shared screenshots of social media accounts that allegedly show Caban talking about how her “face looks fatter” when her hair is up – she used an emoji of a pregnant woman as well.
Exhibit C: Gossip websites have also shared screenshots of Caban reportedly liking a fan’s comment that said she’d be happy if Caban was pregnant with Bruno Mars’ baby.
THAT’S what fans and gossip magazines are calling evidence. <eyeroll emoji>
