Who doesn’t like watching baby videos? They are cute, funny, and make our heart go all warm and fuzzy. How many times have you wished that you could squish those adorable faces, cup those chubby cheeks and eat those tiny feet? In a way, baby videos are therapeutic. They are uplifting and if it was in my hands, I would have handed out a prescription of baby videos to one and all.

I remember being pregnant, vomiting after every meal, coming back tired and just watching baby videos on loop. It helped me forget how tired I was. It helped me look forward to my days with my little one, it was healing. Now, I have my own set of my daughter’s enchanting videos that I watch on loop.

But, even today, being a busy mom, I make time for the hilarious and delightful baby videos on YouTube, because they provide me with my daily dose of laughter. I can watch baby videos on loop. Chubby, little hands stuffing their tiny little mouths with ice cream, or the cute little bums dancing to the tunes of “Hips don’t lie”, or the thousands of videos showing baby eating lemons; there are so many, and so little time to watch them all.

Do you remember watching the baby segment on America’s Funniest Videos? They were hilarious. Especially, the narration of the videos was what made it even more special. I think the trend of recording babies doing crazy things, became more rampant, after the launch of AFV. AFV is a show that I would put on the must-watch list.

Here are some of internet’s favorite baby videos. Go ahead, have a laugh. You know you need it today!

15 Baby Finger, Baby Finger, Where Are You?

Kids love the finger family nursery rhyme. But, it looks like this little girl loves it more than anyone. Here is Josephine singing the song. Can you believe she is not even 2 in this video? Look at those tiny hands clapping at the beginning of the song. Well, she deserves to clap for herself, even if it means in advance. Her words are clear, her tone is amazing, and above all, she looks adorable with what I assume, is a towel under her head.

She sings the whole song, pointing to her fingers and finishes off with a proud, “Yay!!”. I think it is her dad recording it, and how proud he must be of this little girl.

I insist that you look at her other videos, specially the “Old McDonald Had a Farm” rendition. You will feel your heart fill with love. Also, she has her own “I bit my cousin’s finger” video, which is beyond adorable. She is a diva in the making.

Josie, you go girl!

14 Bring Some Tissues, You Will Need It For This One

Does it happen to you that you are listening to peppy songs, and then comes a song that makes you emotional, and you go all weepy? Well, it happened to these adorable twins.

It looks like it is the usual routine for the twins to be swinging in their rocker, while mumma sings their favorite “Itsy Bitsy Spider”. You can see both of them smiling and enjoying the song. Then, comes the dad, who sings “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from the movie The Wizard of Oz. Suddenly, there is a change of expression on both the babies’ faces, they both turn glum. But, one baby goes further and starts crying. Parents quickly change the song and sing Itsy Bitsy again and the babies start smiling again. Now, mom sings the other song, and again babies go sad, this time both of them start crying. It is like a switch, on and off.

13 I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream

Summer is fast approaching and it is time to head to the pool, soak up some sun, and eat ice creams. I haven’t heard of anyone who doesn’t like ice creams. But, do you like it as much as this baby? I don’t think so.

Look at this gorgeous baby devouring the ice cream. She loves it! She gets animated when given the ice cream. Can you see her hand waves showing her excitement for more ice cream? She can’t have enough of this delicious thing. Give me more, she seems to say. Also, look at those expressive eyes, hungry for more. Her tiny mouth goes wide open at the sight of the ice cream. She is enjoying it so much that her eyes, hands and feet are moving simultaneously. This is all of us when we see our favorite food; all our senses work in tandem.

12 I Bet You Can’t Stop Laughing

It is said that children who grow in homes having pets, tend to be more compassionate. Pets make the best companions not only for adults, but for babies too. And you know what, pets and babies make adorable, funny characters for home videos too.

Take an example of this video. Dad is feeding the family dog some popcorn, and this tiny princess thinks it’s hilarious. Look at her laugh! She looks at her dad, looks at the dog, and goes berserk laughing, showing her tiny two teeth. How can one stay silent looking at this video? I bet you will laugh along, and you will laugh loudly. She is hysterical! Her dad can’t contain his laughing too. I thought looking at hiccups was contagious, but after this video, I think laughter is contagious too. As for the dog, he really loves his popcorn.

11 Achooo. Oh No

Achoo! Excuse me please. Sorry, there is something up my nose. It is funny to see people sneeze. Sneezing brings out the funniest of faces that we can wear. Our eyes close, our nose crinkles and mouth protrudes open and close. Sometimes, I feel we say sorry after sneezing not because we might have spread germs, but because we might have embarrassed ourselves and scared the person sitting opposite to us.

In this video, the baby is sleeping on mumma’s chest, when she closes her eyes and sneezes. Then, she goes “Oh no” in the cutest of voices I have ever heard. The tone of her voice seems like she is embarrassed or it might just be us reading too much into it. But whatever it is, it is as cute as cuteness could be. The angle of the camera is perfect to catch this moment. Mommy thinks it is cute and we share the same feeling. Don’t we?

10 I Didn’t Mean To Scare You Baby

Babies have dog ears. Of course, they do. They have been practicing how to hear from the time they were in the womb. They can hear you snore, they can hear you cackle, they can even hear you breathe loudly! When they hear, they react, and sometimes their reactions are outright funny. I have come to concur that anything and everything that babies do can bring a smile on our face, and sometimes, hysterical laughing.

In this video, mommy seems to be suffering from a bout of cold. As she is blowing her nose, her five-and-a-half months old son, Emerson is scared and then laughs hysterically when she stops blowing. Look at his reactions. He could very well get a part in the movies for all the emoting he is doing. How scared does he look? Well, his reactions are mind-blowing cute and makes us go, ‘Aww’.

9 Look At Her Fooling Her Dad

Babies, however tiny, have tricks up their sleeves. They know what they like and what they don’t like. They have means by which they make sure that parents act as per their commands. You may not know of it first, but as you get to know them, you get to know their tricks.

For example, look at this video of a dad cutting his daughter’s nails with scissors. Every time, the dad gets the scissor near her fingers, she acts like she is getting hurt and then when the dad retracts the scissor, she laughs hysterically, mocking the dad. Neat trick kiddo! The dad in the video is enjoying this little trick his daughter is playing on him and he is playing along, like all good dads do. He tries cutting her nails multiple times, but her reaction is the same – priceless. Give her an Oscar, I say!

8 Tring Tring. Hello Blah Blah Blah.

Babies are so used to seeing their parents with cell phones most of the time, that they are curious about the tiny, little device that their parents are hooked on to. So, they hover around, looking at the screen, pulling it to their ears, and when they hear voices coming from the other end, their curiosity gets piqued again.

But, this baby had more than her (judging from what’s written on her onesie) curiosity piqued. She heard her dad on the other end, and wanted to talk to him and she did talk. This little girl spoke to her dad at length in the cutest of all languages aka baby language aka gibberish. Look at her continuous barrage of baby words, as though she is ranting about her day. At one point, she looks like she is complaining to her dad. She stops when her dad speaks and pretends to hear him and then goes back to answering him. Absolutely funny!

7 Oh My God, What Just Happened?

Startle response is the first response when it comes to fight and flight phenomenon, that keeps us safe. It is something that makes us wary of the dangers around us. Babies have a slow startle response in the beginning because they have just entered the world and are discovering the nuances of the world. Slowly, they get comfortable with people and surroundings, but a sudden sound or response can cause them to startle, and their expressions are worth watching, because they range from normal to weird to funny.

In this video, the newborn is crying like all newborns do. Usually, parents use every method in the book to calm down and soothe a crying baby. So when dad makes a funny noise, the baby looks shocked and nails the ‘I am scared’ look. Newborns make the weirdest of faces all the time and this beautiful baby tops the list. This squishy little newborn went a step ahead and pops her eyes responding to the noise her dad is making, and looks captivating doing it.

6 Dads Against Daughters Dating

If dads could have their way, they wouldn’t let their daughters date at all. Would they? Daughters are their dad’s princesses. They go beyond themselves to protect their daughters. They cannot see their daughters getting hurt. They cannot see their daughters cry. They cannot see their daughters dating. They hate their daughters’ boyfriends. Well, maybe not. But, you get the larger picture here, don’t you? Dads are protective of their daughters from the time they are born.

In this video, the dad is joking and telling his baby daughter that she can’t have a boyfriend till she is 35. Before even dad can complete his sentence, the little cuddly baby breaks into squealing laughter, as if to say, ‘Daddy, are you serious?’ The dad tries again and again and the little beauty laughs more loudly than before. I love the way her dad looks at her, my heart just melted.

5 Daddy Says No

No one likes to be reprimanded. But, babies hate it altogether. They don’t like it when their loving parents raise their voice at them. They react by crying and bringing the whole house down, till parents unwillingly accept their defeat. I have a toddler who says no when she doesn’t want me to interfere in her activities, but if I ever say a stern no, that’s it! Her reputation is faltered and she will cry till I feel guilty of scolding her for her bad behavior. Yes, welcome to my world.

Here, little Mae is hovering around her dad’s laptop, casually trying to reach the keys when Daddy says ‘No’. She gets extremely upset, curls her lips and starts crying. Aww! Mom explains below the video that this was made to show her grandparents who live across the country their little granddaughter’s heartbreaking sad face. Her dad was just back from deployment and a ‘no’ from him for the first time was a big upset for her. Aww, baby girl, it is ok, daddy loves you.

4 Baby Argues With Dog

Once babies learn that their mouths can produce words, or noise that sounds like words, they stop at nothing. They talk to anything and everything. Yes, even the inanimate objects lying in the house. You will see voice modulations, hand gestures and excessive pointing. It makes sense, they have opinions, don’t they, and it is important for them that it is heard.

So, in this video, adults are presumably busy, and there is a lone, disinterested looking bulldog sitting on the sofa, when this little baby (probably a toddler) starts with his tirade against the dog. He uses hand gestures, looks visibly frustrated with something and goes on ranting about something that the dog should probably be concerned about! The dog listens to him for a while and then turns around to sleep. Well, you can’t win an argument with a baby, can you?

3 When Life Hands You A Lemon

When it comes to baby videos, there is an unwritten rule that a lemon eating baby video has to be posted. The citrus fruit has the ability to make an adult cringe, who has more advanced taste buds, having tasted a variety of flavors in their life until now. However, babies have a limited palate, considering they have been only on milk and purees. So, it is funny when we see babies taste the sour fruit for the first time. There is a whole compilation of videos on YouTube, dedicated entirely to babies eating lemon for the first time. How awesome is that!

Take for example, this video. Mommy gives the baby a bite of lemon. Like an unsuspecting victim, the baby opens his mouth and takes a bite of it. The sour taste hits his tongue, and he immediately reacts, closing his eyes, wiggling his body and then ultimately laughing. He licks his lips and then nods his head in refusal, probably thinking, ‘I am never going to put that in my mouth again.’

2 Newborn Flips Off Daddy

When we are with babies and kids in general, we watch our language. We watch what we speak. We tend to avoid cuss words and words that we don’t intend our kids to use. Especially, with toddlers who are learning to speak, it is better that we avoid using gestures and words that they will see and learn and then use unknowingly, causing us a major embarrassment. But, what do you do when your baby was just born? You probably haven’t even had a chance to hold your baby, and he does the unthinkable.

This video might be the first video that the dad is taking of his newborn. We can see the mom holding the baby, probably enjoying the golden hour, when dad decides to shoot a video of his newborn. The baby slowly raises his middle finger (remember the baby has no control of all of his reflexes yet) and the timing of it is freaking unbelievable. It is hilarious, isn’t it?

1 This Is What The World Needs Today

They say kids under 3 have the purest of hearts. They do not differentiate between anyone based on their nationality, religion, color, or culture. They see what they want to see and they do what they please. They are at an age, when every stranger is the same. In today’s world, where intolerance is on the rise, this little girl teaches us that we have enough hellos and enough hugs to pass around.

Here is Joey, a 16-month old toddler, moving around a store in Arkansas, waving ‘Hi’ at people, bringing smiles. At one point, she waves at an elderly woman, who waves back and asks Joey how she is and Joey goes ahead and hugs her. Tell me your heart did little happy dance here, didn’t it? This makes me believe that the world is a better place today because of this little girl. Who knows how many hearts she healed with her gesture? Bless you little Joey, bless you. We want more of you in bigger sizes.
