Despite occasionally losing track of the number of children he has, in a 2009 Letterman interview he said he had three, when in fact he was up to number four, Law is said to take his responsibilities seriously. Word in the gossip mags and websites has it that he pays up plenty in the way of child support and is active in the lives of all five of his children.

Jude Law has recently announced that he and Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the big screen in 2020, staring together in Sherlock Holmes 3. The actor, who turns 46 this year, has been nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globes, British Academy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Law won a BAFTA, for his role in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and has even been named a “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” by the French government, in recognition of his contribution to World Cinema Art.

As well as his film and TV roles Law is an accomplished stage actor but there is one role he will be playing for the rest of his life, the role of father.

What else do we know about his kids? Read on to discover all you need to know about the children who have Jude Law as a dad.

15 Separated From Mom

Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy law are siblings who share Jude Law as a dad and Sadie Frost as a mom. The trio, as you might expect for children blessed with gorgeous genes, have all grown into striking offspring and are making their own way through the glittering world of fame and fortune.

Fortunately for the three of them, mom Sadie and dad Jude are reported to have a friendly relationship now, allowing their children to enjoy the company of both parents without the difficulties that often arise when divorced couples part and war breaks out.

In her autobiography, “Crazy Days” mom Sadie talks openly and frankly about her struggles with lifelong depression in general and her severe postpartum depression in particular.

So bad was her PPD after son Rafferty was born, she had to be hospitalized until a medication regime could be found that helped her. Following the birth of Iris, Sadie was able to seek help and control her PPD with medication again but after Rudy was born things were worse.

Friends begged her to seek help, but she was eventually committed to a psychiatric ward, separating her from her children once more. Fortunately, this point was a low from which Sadie only traveled upwards.

14 Remember That Infamous Incident?

When Iris Law was two years old, she was taken to a children's birthday party, thrown for a friend of her brother Rafferty, at a private club called Soho House. It is a popular venue and had been used as a club for a private event the night before. It is thought that one of the party-goers the night before had dropped a certain illicit substance on the floor and little Iris found it.

Mom Sadie said in an interview with Britain's Daily Mail: “She was sitting at one of the tables, playing, when my best friend, Zoe, spotted Iris spitting something out of her mouth. I could have ignored it, but thankfully my instinct told me to go straight over and take a closer look. On the end of her tongue was a small grey tablet with a line through it. It had partially dissolved in her mouth, but there was enough left for me to grab it.”

Frost went on to say “THEY took us through to the pediatric unit where they told me, as standard procedure, that the police would have to be informed. Contrary to reports, Iris did not have her stomach pumped or a brain scan. There is little they can do in a case such as this apart from monitor the child. They also gave Iris a charcoal concoction to drink to absorb all the chemicals. It took ages to get her to drink it up, and it made her retch."

"I knew within an hour that her heartbeat was fine and I began to relax a little. She hadn't taken a whole [tablet] and didn't seem to be behaving too erratically, although she did appear intoxicated. She was certainly acting rather eccentrically, but the doctor assured me this could be down to all the excitement and the strange environment as much as anything else.”

13 She's A 'Model' Daughter

Thankfully Iris was unaffected but she is still far from your average 17-year-old. Speaking to ID last year, Iris told how her modeling career got off the ground when she was just 15 and took part in a shoot for Illustrated People.

She said: "I kind of just rocked up thinking it was a little shoot. I was excited to see how the photos would turn out but I didn't realize it was going to be a reveal type thing. Then it dropped and it was on the website and newspapers were picking up on it. My agent, who I'm with now saw that and got in touch. I didn't think anything would come of it."

It is hardly surprising that the eldest Law daughter should find her way to working in modeling.

Mom Sadie Frost has her own fashion line and Iris’s godmother is one of the biggest names in fashion and modeling, Kate Moss. Iris was even bridesmaid at Kate’s wedding in 2011.

The young model says Moss has given her plenty of modeling advice: “She said if you put the back of your tongue to the roof of your mouth it makes your jawline look better.”

12 And The Face Of Burberry

At just 16 Iris was chosen to be the global ambassador for Burberry Beauty.

“I feel really honored to have been chosen! I’ve been really excited for the campaign to come out – and maybe a bit nervous, too,” she told British Vogue. “Everyone has been really welcoming though and shooting the campaign was really fun.”

“I’ve been wearing Burberry since I was really young, my first baby carrier was from Burberry,” she said, and it's worth remembering that her godmother, Kate Moss, has had a long relationship with the brand, too. “I’ve always loved it - it’s a great British brand.”

“I don’t wear make-up at school but if I am wearing it in the day, I keep it simple. I put Fresh Glow from Burberry on my cheekbones, the Liquid Lip Velvet in Fawn Rose on my lips and then [Burberry Beauty artistic consultant] Wendy Rowe taught me eye contouring, so I use the Burberry Eye Colour Contour for that,” she said. “If I’m going out I’ll either do a strong eye or a bold lip – not both. I’ve also been experimenting with a kind of red color under my eyes. I get my beauty inspiration from shoots, and things I see on Instagram. When I look on Instagram, I’m creating a kind of mental moodboard!”

11 Mixing Work And Pleasure

Law is currently seeing fellow Burberry model Kelvin Bueno, 19. They were said to have met "through friends," and have been dating for "several months."

While the pair may both be Burberry models hitting the same parties and events in the fashion circuit, they could not have started life in very different ways.

Iris was brought up in a multi-million dollar London home, in one of the most sought-after areas of London, daughter of movie stars and surrounded by the rich and famous.

Meanwhile, Kelvin was raised in a tower block in the densely populated Santos district of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

As well as earning his living as a model, Bueno is also a graffiti artist and musician, and he composed a song, called 22 Reasons, to celebrate Iris’s birthday this week. The lyrics include the lines ‘It’s the way you walk and talk, I think I’ve found my love,’ and ‘It’s the way you call my name, there isn’t another way to say I’ve found my love today, and I ain’t letting go.’

Happily, Iris’s romance with Kelvin has already won the approval of Sadie’s bohemian mother, Mary, who described them on social media as a ‘gorgeous couple.’

10 She's Not The Only Model In The Family

Rafferty Law, the eldest son of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, has also been blessed with the gorgeous parent genes and began modeling when he was 15. Law took part in a shoot for the June 2012 issue of Vogue in which he was photographed by Alasdair McLellan for Francesca Burns's shoot London Pride - in which the photographer reimagined The Lambeth Walk with Pixie Geldof on London's Southbank.

This photo session was designed to celebrate London and participants included sports star, actors, London's up and coming young “it” crowd, and even the Saint Paul's Cathedral Choir. Each shot was intended to capture the subject in a way that reveals an insight into his or her personality. Burn’s said “Pixie and Rafferty have known each forever, so they were great together. He has such a beautiful face. The idea for the shots came from the Ray Petri, Buffalo era.”

As you can see from the photo above, although not yet professional models both Pixie and Raff had a special relationship with the camera.

This did not immediately catapult the youngster known as Raff, into the international spotlight, it wasn’t long before he was enjoying the kind of fame in the fashion world that his famous parents enjoy in the movie and theater arts.

9 'The Rebel' Son

When he was 16 Raff, or Rafi as he is also sometimes known, was signed to star in a new advertising campaign for tailoring brand, Tiger of Sweden. The campaign consisted of s short film called “A Different Cut” in which six different young creatives say what “The Cut” means to them.

Law was cast as “the rebel,” and in an East London accent, far removed from his true, Primrose Hill sound, Raffi says "To be above the cut, you've got to think a little different." Throughout the film, the then 16-year-old is seen to be wearing a selection of tailored shirts and suits and is also adorned by the brand's stylists in plenty of rings and earrings. Intended to embody the brand's rock and roll ethos Law looks every bit the London rebel he was hired to play.

Since he was signed by international model agency powerhouse, Select Model Management back in 2014 Law has worked with the likes of Hugo Boss, DKNY, and others, jetting around the world and generally living it up with some of the most significant stars in men's fashion, including David Gandy. He appears to have no interest in following either of his parents to the stage or the screen.

8 The Cool Kids

He may bear a striking resemblance to his famous father but make no mistake the younger Law has a distinct style all of his own. Raffi’s red-hot career shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Earlier this year he took his signature walk to the runway of Milan's Men's Fashion Week on behalf of Dolce and Gabbana.

Rafferty has been a favorite of Dolce and Gabbana Raffi and also took part in a campaign for them back in September 2017.

In this campaign he was not the only famous son, he shared the adoring glow of the lens with Christian Casey Combs and Brandon Thomas Lee, the sons of P Diddy and Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee respectively.

The photoshoot took part in Venice and featured the group in a variety of amazing outfits. The trio was also joined by Moroccan comedian Gad Elmaleh's son Noé, singer Austin Mahone and Instagram star Cameron Dallas for the event.

This “in crowd” of young men and women are the second generation of famous partiers and have all been brought up in households dripping with visits from their families rich and famous friends. It is little wonder they have done so well for themselves.

7 A Face Fit For The Cover Of GQ

Now that he has become well established as one of the fashions new darlings Rafferty Law has started to claim his place, staring out from the covers of magazines around the world. The latest has been his appearance on the cover of French magazine Apollo were he was captioned as “Rafferty Law, THE Millennial.”

Fans of Raffi did not have to make do with just this one photo though. Inside the magazine, there was an impressive 12-page spread devoted to the young man photographed by Nick Thompson and styled by Suzie Street.

This was the second cover in as many months because Raffi had just been gracing the cover of Italian GQ alongside Luka Sabbat, Juan Pablo Zurita, and Ashton Mahone, with the four of them being labeled #TheMillennials.

In an article exploring the top 50 men, potentially in the running for “GQ Best Dressed Man Of The Year” Eleanor Halls, Staff Writer, GQ writes, “Law rocks athleisure like no one else: from dark slouchy bomber jackets and embroidered hoodies to khaki-colored baggy trousers and oversized denim. With 34,000 Instagram followers and counting, as well as his new creative collective, Something To Hate On, Law is making waves far beyond fashion. Jude who?"

6 Staying In The Family Business

Frost and Laws youngest son, Rudy, appears to be the only one of the power ex-couples offspring who has shown an interest in joining his famous parents in front of a camera that captures movement instead of stills.

Staring in the film “Dotty”, Rudy plays a child who stumbles across an eccentric woman, played by his real-life mum, Sadie.

IMDB says of this ten minute short, “A lonely 9-year-old boy stumbles across a modest caravan in the American Midwest, inside the caravan lives Dotty, an eccentric but kind women old enough to be his grandmother. Dotty invites the boy into her rainbow decorated caravan that is littered with exotic memorabilia from her past, and in particular an incredible collection of brightly colored shoes. The boy, who has a hidden sadness he won't discuss and a suspicious bruise on one arm can forget about his troubles momentarily as Dotty and the boy embark on a journey that spans her colorful life.”

While whispers of nepotism may have reared their ugly head at the start of the project, critics were unanimous about young Rudy’s performance.

The movie was popular on the film festival circuit and one festival director, Leoni Kibbey said: ‘Rudy’s performance is brave and exciting and it’s super he’s following in his parents’ footsteps. He has the Jude twinkle in his eye and looks as if he really enjoyed his role.’

5 An Imagination That Soars

This was not the first time Rudy had lit up the screen with one of his performances. On his website, Ben Charles Edwards, photographer and filmmaker says of the ten minute short “Introducing the son of Jude Law; Suzie Lovitt, the cross-dressing alter ego of Rudy Law. Filmed several years ago, the Ben Charles Edwards-directed docu-short captures the vivid imagination of Rudy’s childhood creation – a flamboyant female dry cleaner from West Ham, London.”

The film was written by Edwards and Dominic Wells and "Suzie Lovitt" has only been screened once for a private event in Leicester Square in early 2012. However, the short is available to view on Nowness where mom Sadie says: “Some people simply have natural rhythm or are really good at impersonations or accents, and Rudy, from a very young age, started to create characters,” explains Frost. “Lots of people began to know Suzie Lovitt – he entertained people, and I knew we had to write and shoot it.”

“We asked the male crew members to shoot the film wearing items of women’s clothes so that Rudy wasn’t alone in the high heels,” recalls Edwards. “From the director of photography to the sound recorder, we all had a hot pair of heels.”

4 Mom Was A Hoot

While Jude Law was filming the first Sherlock Holmes movie in New York City, he met Samantha Burke who was, at the time, working as a waitress in Hooters and living in New Jersey. The pair spent what was described by Hollywood Life as a “fun-filled week together.” This came to an end when Law returned to England, and in an interview in 2009 Burke said: “I knew our relationship would not continue, and I was okay with that.”

When she discovered she was pregnant, Burke kept it to herself for a while, until she had adjusted to the idea and then contacted the dad-to-be through lawyers.

Law asked for a paternity test and when it was confirmed he was the father of Burke’s baby the couple came to an agreement which reportedly agreed that Law would pay $6,000 a month in child support along with paying for school and medical treatment. This amount will increase through the years, until their child, Sophia, reaches the age of 18. No post-secondary help for little Sophia.

Samantha Burke came under fire when she was paid for a photo shoot with Hello Magazine featuring her, alongside her baby daughter. Some of this heat dissipated after she revealed some of the money was being donated to the Ronald McDonald House charity and the rest has been put into trust for Sophia’s future.

3 A Fifth Surprise

Just when he thought the time for new fatherhood had passed Law spent a whirlwind spring with a 23-year-old singer/songwriter with a penchant for Coachella-style fashion. While Americans generally had no idea who Catherine Harding, who performs under the name Cat Cavelli, is Perez Hilton became obsessed with her song "Cruel Melody," and blogged about it on his website. Hilton said of the track: "Take Demi Lovato add some British coolness, some Madonna Frozen, some Laura Mvula and a whole lot of drum n bass awesomeness and you have Cruel Melody by Cat Cavelli."

Their baby, Ada Law, is being raised by both parents in a house that Jude bought for Catherine in London. Mom and Dad do not live together, they split while Harding was still pregnant, but their relationship is amicable.

Before baby Ada was born Laws representatives released a statement to say: “Jude Law and Catherine Harding are expecting a child together in the spring. While they are no longer in a relationship, they are both wholeheartedly committed to raising their child.”

Catherine says that Jude is a great, hands-on dad, who spends lots of time with his youngest daughter. She said in a recent interview: "Jude is really funny and sweet. I remember last week he came over and he had to change her on the park bench. He cleaned her all up.”

2 No Chance To Be A Daddy’s Girl

In an article in Australia's Herald Sun newspaper, Samantha Burke is quoted as saying about her daughter, “She has Jude’s chin and nose, and she does a little pout, which I notice he’s done before. I think of my relationship with my father, and I think it’s just as important as your relationship with your mother. I’m very hopeful that it’ll work out, for Sophia’s sake.’’

Her hopes do not appear to have been realized however as a story on Hollywood Life says that, as of the end of 2016, Sophia had only seen her father once a year. This shouldn’t be that much of a surprise, after all, Law appears to have been suspicious of Burke's motives, first demanding a paternity test and then waiting five months before seeing his daughter for the first time. The daddy-daughter introduction took place after intense meetings with lawyers and was said to have also been witnessed by the legal eagles.

Sophia reportedly wants to get to know her father better, but, at the time of the article, Jude only saw his daughter once a year. He was, however, planning to spend Christmas 2016 with his then seven-year-old daughter, which could have been a little awkward considering their lack of relationship up until that point.

1 They Changed His Outlook

Famous for being both charming and for being a bit of a bad boy, it seems that fatherhood has changed Laws outlook somewhat. The kind of fella he used to be is not so appealing now his oldest daughter is dating and his youngest two will be in the future. In an interview Law said:

“I think women like bad boys. That’s been my experience. I just think it’s kind of a given. You know, at a certain age you figure out what works for you and being a good boy never worked for me.

And if you’re a bad boy, they like it. But, eventually, you have to grow up and realize relationships are hard work. It’s like cultivating anything. They need attention.”

He went on to say “Being a daddy is what counts. I’ve been busy rehearsing that in real life for more than ten years. I used to sleep until noon, but it’s not so bad to have to get up at 7 and give them breakfast. My daughter made me realize that if there’s anything that’s going to make a man of you, it’s having your will broken by a little girl.”

With a new love in his life, Jude hasn’t ruled out more children, so it looks like a new found maturity suits him.
