One of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses, Rachel McAdams is finally pregnant! Having always been quite vocal about wanting to start a family of her own, the actress is apparently due to give birth in May or June 2018.

Taking a page out of Kylie Jenner’s attention-seeking book, Rachel has kept a tremendously low profile since last year and hasn’t walked any red carpets. The 39-year-old actress has been spotted hiding her stomach while running errands and like many celeb mama-to-be’s has also been opting for oversized clothing in an effort to hide her growing bump.

But unlike the Kardashian, our sweet Rachel isn't seeking attention. She is just a fiercely private celebrity actress who has always kept her romantic life under wraps.

Fans definitely couldn’t be happier for her, especially since she’s not only Canada’s sweetheart (she was born in Ontario!), but also one of America’s favorite actresses as well. She has talked about wanting kids for almost a decade now, so the clock has likely been ticking loudly in her ears for a very long time already!

Talking about her during The Notebook premiere, Ryan Gosling was quoted saying: “She was inspiring. You know, she’s just like Allie in the movie: She laughs like that, she talks like that. She’s elated one minute and devastated the next. She’s a very real person. You tend to forget what real people are in this business but she was a jolt of reality.”

15 She Wanted To Have Kids First

Being the eldest sibling, Rachel McAdams always envisioned herself having kids first. A source revealed: “There’s always a sense that the oldest child should be the first to have a baby of course, but there’s still time for Rachel. She’s at that stage in her life where friends, family and exes such as Ryan are all popping out babies.”

Unfortunately, life doesn't always work out the way that we might see it unfold in our heads and as it turns out, Rachel's little brother beat her to the punch, having recently announced that he's expecting soon. Not to mention there's also the fact that her little sister and famed make-up artist Kayleen McAdams got married in 2015, with kids probably on the horizon for her as well. For the record, Rachel McAdams isn't married yet -- at least not that the media knows of yet.

14 She Refuses To Drive

Here's one initiative that Rachel might actually have to give up once the baby arrives. While talking to Ellen a couple of years ago, she confessed that she doesn't own a car in an effort to be more "green". Instead, she gets around the city of Toronto by riding a beat-up bike that makes tons of noise. Surely she could afford to get it fixed with her fortune, especially with all the money she has been saving by not having a car?

With becoming a mom though, there is a good chance that she is going to need to sacrifice that initiative. Having to leave the house to go grocery shopping and mommy meet-ups, it becomes almost inevitable to need a car. On the bright side, there are lots of green cars available on the market.

13 She Had A Psychotic Episode

Despite her squeaky clean image, Rachel McAdams has admitted to trying drugs. It was only apparently to help her sleep... or so she says. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, she admitted that after suffering from insomnia, her grocer suggested that she should try something special. "So he said 'I've got something for you'. So he takes me to the back and he pulls out this little bottle with no label and its full of this dark green substance. 'And he lifts it and says take a whiff of that... And its marijuana. ‘I was like oh no, no no, I want to sleep I don't want to get high," she confessed.

Trying it anyways, she agonizingly started hearing opera for the next five hours: "This guy singing opera. I was going crazy". If she was willing to try questionable drugs given to her by her grocer, then that truly makes us wonder the kinds of other substances she may have tried on the advice of random people on the street.

12 Technology Is Banned In Her House

Not only is she really big on avoiding cars whenever possible, but in her website Green Is Sexy, she called herself: "an OCD for unplugging anything with a plug". Wondering how that's going for her since the website is now defunct? Over the years, she has been involved in many protests regarding the environment and has been a strong advocate for reducing an individual's carbon footprint.

Given her many years of involvement with bettering the environment, it’s almost for certain that she is going to raise her little nougat the same exact way. We’re almost willing to bet anything that there won’t been much screen time at their house and everything will be as natural as possible. The good news is that she definitely has enough money for all of these initiatives, especially eating pesticide-free foods and buying as fresh as possible.

11 She Will Raise Her Child 'Ignorant'

We promise we’re not putting her down. It’s a statement that she has made about herself! In an interview with People, she confessed: “I listen to the news on the radio. I don't have a television and I am really bad at e-mail. I’m really ignorant.”

Given her tremendous involvement with the environment, she probably isn’t as ignorant as she claims to be. With that in mind, there’s a good chance that her kid probably won’t be raised listening and reading fake news. From that statement alone, it’s also clear that there won’t be much screen time in her house. But celebrities usually have enough money to hire nannies and cooks, so she will definitely never need to plop her child in front of the television, hoping for just five minutes of quiet time while she washes the dishes.

10 She Might Ditch Acting

Rachel has previously admitted: "I'm not an amazing cook, but I can follow a recipe. I wouldn't mind running a restaurant."

Her favorite spots to eat are all in Toronto, where she lives part-time. Talking about Toronto's food scene, she has admitted: "I love to eat in this city. You've got the best of the best - you'll never go hungry here."

So there is a good a chance that if she were to ever step away from the spotlight of acting to finally pursue the career of her dreams, that she might just do it in Toronto.

Even if she never ends up pursuing this dream, it’s almost for certain that her baby is going to grow up eating only the freshest foods. No food pouches at the McAdams house!

9 She Was Born To Be With Ryan Gosling

But it's too bad they broke up. In all seriousness though, both Rachel and Ryan were actually born at the same hospital in London, Ontario, albeit two years apart. Fans couldn’t have been happier when Rachel and Ryan started seeing each other following the release of The Notebook, especially after being left devastated that the famous co-stars didn’t even like each other on set. The director had shared at the time:

"[T]hey were really not getting along one day on set. Really not. And Ryan came to me, and there's 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, 'Nick come here.' And he's doing a scene with Rachel and he says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this."

There is also something to be said about how way too invested the fans were as well since most were furious with Gosling after the break-up. Gosling has since found his soulmate and now has two kids with Eva Mendes.

8 Looks Like She Found Mr. Right

Although McAdams has divulged absolutely nothing concerning her relationship with Jamie Linden, we do know two things. First of all, she was first spotted with the filmmaker in 2016 in Paris. He has previously dated Zooey Deschanel, has won $5,000 on The Price Is Right (along with a Tuscan wine server car) and he is also the mastermind screenplay writer behind the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' Dear John. Is it a coincidence that Rachel had also starred in her very own Nicholas Sparks film adaptation, The Notebook?

Secondly, there is the statement that she made back in 2010 during an interview with InStyle: “Part of me is very attached to the idea of having children. It’ll depend on if I find the person I want to do that with,” she said. She has yet to confirm the father of her child, but it's a safe bet that Linden is indeed Mr. Right.

7 She Once Stalked A Guy

And it wasn't even romantic! When asked about the craziest thing that she ever did to get a guy's attention, she admitted to stalking someone. "I showed up at a restaurant where I knew the guy worked, and we were actually good friends and had lost touch, and I pretended that I didn't know he worked there. And then ran into him and, ‘Oh my God, you work here? I had no idea.’ It's the most manipulative thing I've done in my entire life, but it all worked out very well, so I have no regrets.”

If he didn’t know about her manipulative stalking, then he for sure found out once the interview went viral! It’s great that everything worked out for the best, though it would be interesting to know if she has used her True Detective investigative skills to track anyone else down.

6 She's A Smoking Mom-To-Be

A fact that may come as a shock to many, Rachel McAdams has been photographed smoking on many occasions in the past. On top of smoking in many of her movies, her character Ani in True Detective was also quite the chain smoker and there are lots of pictures of McAdams smoking on the show. The good news is that cigarettes onscreen are usually fake as a result of the Screen Actor’s Guild very strict guidelines, but despite that, something tells us that it wasn’t just for show, especially since many pictures show her smoking during breaks from filming.

There is no word if it's a habit that she has continued to indulge in, but let’s just hope for her baby’s sake that there hasn’t been any secret trips to the bathroom to smoke. Smoking during pregnancy can have deadly consequences.

5 50% Chance Of A Vegetarian Baby

Back in the beginning of January 2012, Rachel told Glamour: "I was one (a vegetarian) once, but it made me very tired. I just ate pasta – I was the most unhealthy vegetarian ever! I’d like to try it again now that I know about (popular meat alternatives) quinoa and bulgur. I think I’d be better the second time around.”

This little tidbit into the actress’ extra private life actually prompted PETA to send her a “vegetarian starter kit and other fun goodies”. Can everyone get one too?

But given that a couple of years have passed, there is a good chance that she might have re-visited the vegetarian diet, especially since there is now even more information and insight on how to do it right. If she did, then she might even raise her child on a non-meat diet.

4 She's Going For Multiples

During an interview with People, she was quoted saying: “Having a few [kids] would be great. My mom is a great inspiration to me...She's a nurse and very nurturing and gentle. She lets me be who I am. Hopefully I can take on those qualities and be as great as her."

So it definitely looks like there are more kids on the horizon for the charming actress. However, there is also every possibility that she might change her mind. Prior to getting pregnant and having any kids, many women think to themselves about wanting three or more kids only to greatly change their minds after the first pregnancy. Not only is pregnancy extremely challenging, but finally having a kid of your own is also significantly different from just babysitting one! Then again, celebrities do tend to push out multiples. It probably helps to have lots of free time and not have to stress about getting the bills paid.

3 She's A Thrill-Seeker

Referencing her movie roles, Rachel McAdams said: "I want to try a lot of things that I haven't tried. You know, I did a thriller (Red-Eye) after this, because it was so different and it was a genre I hadn't worked in yet. Then I did a beautiful family ensemble drama. And next? I don't know. I might go off to do a small independent in New York. I'm not sure. The quality of material is important, but, basically, I'm open to anything. I like to stay open to anything."

Deviating from her typical movie roles is one thing, but lying about her allergies something else entirely. Turns out that to land her To The Wonder movie role, she purposefully omitted the fact that she is allergic to horse hair. It wasn’t until her face swelled up that she finally copped to the truth. Risking her own health and well-being for a movie role is definitely risky business that most wouldn’t undertake.

2 She's A Yogi Master In Training

As most celebs are, it turns out that Rachel McAdams loves Kundalini yoga and practices it every single morning, even when she is filming. She has actually revealed: “The earliest I'll start is four-thirty. That's my limit." Geez, if 4:30am is her “limit”, then that really puts the most of the rest of us to shame.

On top of practicing yoga daily, she is also very active in general. She has shared that she loves swimming and rock climbing, as well as sports like volleyball, badminton and soccer. In fact, she has also figure skated most of her young life. Starting at just four years old, she competed until the age of 18, even winning regional awards. Ultimately, figure skating came secondary to acting and is now just a hobby for her.

1 Her Parents Are Totally Normal

While some actors follow in their parents' footsteps, Rachel McAdams completely deviated from her parents' simple life. While her mom, Sandra, is a nurse, her dad, is a retired truck driver turned furniture mover. At least that was the latest update on them, but they may have both retired since then as well.

Rachel has been quoted many times summarizing her parents' lives as very calm and quiet. They are both just very normal people, who as evidenced by the picture, couldn’t be prouder of their daughter. With her mom being a nurse, it’s almost for certain that Rachel won’t even need to hire a nanny. In any case, unlike the Kardashians, she doesn’t strike as the kind of celebrity who would and we’re almost certain that she will keep everything low-key just as she was raised.
